RAPE ruins any story!

Especially so near the beginning. frankly i cant understand why this device is used nor why this kind of helplessness is described with such detail. i like this series but its very hard to get around such of an event that's so integral to the story. its such a shame. this is not something i want in my fantasy and si-fi books. maybe it would be better to keep this kind of writing reserved for horror books. how about it terry?

Earth is no longer the center of the universe. After the invention of the faster-than-light jump drive, humanity is rapidly establishing new colonies. But the vast distances of space mean that the old order of protection and interstellar law offered by Earth has ceased to exist. ok there has to be hard times and yes even hopeless situations but this whole book is filled and even more disturbing ends with the villians triumphant. there is very little to even root for.i know that in future books of this series it will probably turn around but as a first book of this series without the next one available i am left oppressed wondering why i invested time in the reading.not the reason i purchase these audible series. i have enough no win situations in my real life. no inspiration here unless you enjoy the triumph of sick angry self serving people manipulating the hard working bravely trying to carve a better life for everyone being used

Almost a century has passed. The fiery hatreds of a quarter-century of warfare between the Terran Federation and the Zheeerlikou'valkhannaieeee, the cat-like species humans called the "Orions", have eased at least a little.

Where does Soul's Gate rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
this is the first audio book in which the narrator is the author and is really good. He could be one of the best narrators around if he ever gave up his writing but unless he gets board with it I don't see that happening for his writing rates up there with the writer of left behind and blessed child. this is a keeper and one I will buy hard copies for my adult children to read to there children
Who was your favorite character and why?
the holy spirit of course but human I would have to say doug
Have you listened to any of James Rubart’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no but I plan to listen to all 6 audio books
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes
Any additional comments?
cant get enough wish there were more than 3 in this series

Technology is growing by leaps and bounds, with BID-Tag implants, robotic police units, and drone-bots flying overhead...all designed to control and dominate those who resist the Antichrist's reign of evil.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
not yet
What didn’t you like about Daniel Butler’s performance?
some narrators get better as the story goes on but although the voice has some character it is the same for each of the speakers so far. hard to tell which one is speaking
Any additional comments?
may press on but prefer to wait for new narrator to be available
