Modern Western culture and technology is inextricably tied to the belief in the existence of a self as a separate ego, separated from and in conflict with the rest of the world. In this classic book, Watts provides a lucid and simple presentation of an alternative view based on Hindu and Vedantic philosophy.

The legendary British actor Terence Stamp reads the book that he says 'changed his life'. This is an exploration of our existence and a journey towards enlightenment. In what the author calls 'the fine print' at the start of the book, David Carse wrote: 'There are many books out there that will help you to live a better life, become a better person, and evolve and grow to realise your potential as a spiritual being. This is not one of them....'

Narration of this very well written book was excellent. The book was gripping and very entertaining, however, it is entertainment only, in my opinion.
I was incorrectly under the impression that it was more enlightening than it actually was.
Seekers should set this one aside for less lofty intentions.

According to the Buddha, no one can attain basic sanity or enlightenment without practicing meditation. The teachings given here on the outlook and technique of meditation provide the foundation that every practitioner needs to awaken as the Buddha did. Trungpa teaches us to let go of the urge to make meditation serve our ambition; thus we can relax into openness.

You really can't go wrong for $2.00.

As a beginner in the practice and understanding of Buddhism, I found this audiobook perfect to further grasp, understand and practice the art of vipassana meditation.
I particularly loved this book because it perfectly served me as "a second step" in my journey. Once one has become familiar with the story of the Buddha and his teaching, this book serves as a comprehensive manual for actually conducting vapassana meditation and all it's aspects.
The narrators voice is pleasant and very easy to listen to while presenting the authors sincere, friendly and sometimes humorous instruction.
I would highly recommend this audiobook to anyone with the desire to learn or improve their vipassana meditation skills.
