It all started with a contract signed by him, then by me, while our families watched. While my father sat silent, a man defeated, giving his daughter to the Benedetti monsters. I obeyed. I played my part. I signed my name and gave away my life. I became their living, breathing trophy, a constant symbol of their power over us. That was five years ago. Then came the time for him to claim me. For Salvatore Benedetti to own me. I had vowed vengeance. I had learned hate. And yet nothing could have prepared me for the man who now ruled my life.

Ok, so I was a bit put off at first because it was about servitude and slavery basically, but honestly it happens. This story was more real life, than fluff. I like that it showed the dark and lighter side of Salvatore. Both characters were amazing, love how their love story blossomed. I enjoy books where the females, while put in difficult situations, where they should be weak are not, they are strong and tough as nail. A good amount of suspense and excitment about what would happen next, to want to read the second story about Dominic, which I did and love it too. This was a really good read, both of them were.

I was the boy who would never be king. The monster who could never be loved. Gia was just a job. Just another girl caught in a world of monsters. It didn't matter that I liked the look of her. I didn't care that she cringed when she saw my soul. I liked it. I liked her fear. And I wanted her.

This was not what I expected, it was dark, but it made if more real. It was not all romantic in the hearts and rainbows kinda way. It was romantic in what might actually happen in a real life situation. It was witty and well written, I loved the story even though it was darker and many people might not agree with the couple getting together. A very good read and second book to this series.

I am enjoying the series. The love triangle between Arick, Jack and Evie is romantic. Though I still want her to be with Jack. Jack and her are meant to be together, even if it is fated she be with death. What is the deal with Matthew, I need to know what is going on with him and his part in the game. Is she really pregnant? if so is it an Arcana? I need to know, so much suspense and excitement.
