Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The Goose Girl is the sort of book you can happily read over and over again, the prose is magical, the story is classic yet innovative, and now as an audiobook the Full Cast Audio family has made this the sort of audiobook you can LISTEN to over and over again!
I would give this a PG rating though, not G, there are scenes that all ears might now appreiciate, but it's squeeky clean, wonderfully written, and an amazing world to read in!
I recommend this and all of Shannon Hale's work!!! Enjoy- over and over again!

"I don't do patrols, I don't go hunting, I just stick close to you. You live your life. I'll keep you safe," Tamani said, sweeping a lock of hair from her face. "Or die trying." Laurel hasn't seen Tamani since she begged him to let her go last year. Though her heart still aches, Laurel is confident that David was the right choice. But just as life returns to normal, Laurel realizes that a hidden enemy lies in wait. Once again, Laurel must turn to Tamani to protect and guide her, for the danger that now threatens Avalon is one that no faerie thought would ever be possible.

*****MINOR SPOILER ALERT*****
Another fun installment in this entertaining tween series, but it fell prey to my biggest series pet peeve: the cliff hanger ending.
I feel that every novel in a series should have its own arc, that the plot mysteries that keep you turning pages throughout should, at least in great part, be paid off/answered by the end of the book, yet the larger themes be unresolved or compelling enough to warrant another book.
This book simply ended at the climax, possibly to increase the reader's interest in anticipating and purchasing the next book in the series, which is uber lame.
It was very involved in the love triangle componant to the story, which was okay, but the actual plot moved very little until the end when the book ended abruptly.
If you're into the series, read and enjoy, it's fun, light reading, but be prepared to wait for the next book to find out what's really going on in this one!

We all play roles at times. Wardwick of Hurog played the role of a fool till he reached adulthood, just to keep his father from murdering him. Now he must overcome the image he so carefully built and fight not simply for his birthright but to free the five Kingdoms from tyranny and the rising tide of darkest magic that threatens his world.

Patricia Briggs can weave wonderful tales, but in EVERY SERIES I've read or sampled of hers: Mercy Thompson, Alpha and Omega, etc, and now Dragon Bones is the pervasive theme of rape. Men, women and children, eventually everyone seems to get raped. UGGH!
I'm not a fan of fiction with any degree of sadism in it, I prefer books that uplift, make me feel good, are like a mental mini-vacation from regular life.
Her books are so wonderfully written and seem like they would be such a fun mental mini-vacay, until someone gets raped. Then it feels like a fun dream that turns into a nightmare.
If rape doesn't bother you, go right ahead.
If you don't find this theme entertaining, avoid Patricia Briggs and Dragon Bones.

Appalling

I'm not a big warewolf genre fan, but this got good reviews and the premise sounded fun and it was on sale for less than $5 so I downloaded it.
I want my money back.
The narrator is fine, nothing too exciting, but the problem was the gratuitous sex and use of the "F" word. That would have been a deal breaker for me no matter what, but it was so early in the book, I barely cared about the protagonist yet, and the sex wasn't a love interest, but a dominance jerk thing- it took me by surprise and I'm sorry to say I listened to the whole scene before I totally registered what I was hearing, it was so shockingly stupid and offensive.
Appalled, I turned it right off and deleted it.
Now I'd like my $4.50 and that half hour of my life back.

Perfect listen. Audiobooks are always a different experience from reading the actual text, but a great text with a great narrator= awesome! Love the book, love the audiobook. Have listened to it many times now, and will listen to it lots more. I only get the ones worth listening to more than once. Highly recomend it! (sorry for any typos, jumping toddlers are helping my focus :))
