Ok, overall this is an anti-PC, science fiction parody from the first few minutes. You have action, adventure, and an insurance agent out to keep his clients satisfied. I mean come on, an insurance salesman was made semi-interesting, that alone was worth the free listen. And let's not forget the manatees. The humor is a little dated and can be a bit offensive, but I don't necessarily listen to books to be coddled. I laughed, I listened and I joined in the adventure. Baldwin did a great job narrating (did I mention the manatee?)

Let me start by saying that I really enjoy reading Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and YA. I've even enjoyed quite a few books targeted at middle school kids. This book just missed the mark for me in so many ways. The basic premise is intriguing, and I really like the idea of going into the past to experience history first hand. This story; however, is just a hole in a hole in a hole. The main character is young, but also infuriating. I suppose if we were to have a little more background (about everything!) that maybe she would be more relatable?

I assume that I'm not the correct audience for this book. There wasn't a lot of character development, nor explanation as to how time travel was possible, not a lot of character development, and just a lot of unanswered questions.

Most of the time, I'm ok with a mediocre book, but this one I had to search in my history to see if I could return. Sadly I don't tend to read all my books in a timely manner and this one is outside the return period.

What a powerful book! This is my first Aldous Huxley book and it certainly won't be my last. The narration was spot on, the story was enjoyable and I even insisted my friends read this book!

I don’t usually read (listen) to books like this, but I am glad I did! It’s a very inspiring listen, and caught me by surprise a few times, as well as activating all the feels - a sign of a good story.

Where does Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir) rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

To be fair, I've already been enthralled with the blog from The Bloggess for a few years now. When I found out she wrote a book, I actually joined audible to purchase it! And I was not at all disappointed. I would say this is in my top two memoirs that I've had the pleasure to listen to. (Tina Fey charmed me as well;)

What did you like best about this story?

The honesty and truth make this beautiful. Life IS messy. Our brains and bodies do crazy things and it's refreshing to be reminded that other people are in the same boat! Told in a very humorous way.
