The Lost Symbol Part 1 audiobook cover art

Extreme disappointment

The good news is I finally finished listening to it … the bad news is it wasn’t worth the time. Going back to the quality of Brown’s first two books, it is an okay mystery with a rather simple main character. If Mr. Brown is going to continue to use Robert Langdon, perhaps Mr. Langdon should learn from his previous experiences … after all, he is suppose to be a Harvard Professor. Basically, this book was very unsatisfactory. After waiting for the book for so long, I was extremely disappointed that it ended up being a mediocre tourist guide of Washington D.C., strung together by a very lame plot, that drug on way, way too long. I would not recommend this book. If you want to read a good Dan Brown book, try Angels and Demons.

From the boring plot going exactly as expected to the shallow letter writer who is the only thing close to a character, this book has been a disappointment from beginning to end. The overall description I would give this piece is bland.
