Well written story line. Characters well developed. Never a dull moment. This is just a very good book. Kept my interest. Dialog between characters excellent. Narrator was excellent. One of the best I have heard. I would suggest this book to a friend.

Amos Decker witnesses a murder just outside FBI headquarters. A man shoots a woman execution style on a crowded sidewalk, then turns the gun on himself. Even with Decker's extraordinary powers of observation and deduction, the killing is baffling. Decker and his team can find absolutely no connection between the shooter - a family man with a successful consulting business - and his victim, a schoolteacher.

All characters well developed. But the story line is so detailed and convoluted that you think the end has happened however it just keeps on going. So many twists and turns but not too many where you get lost. It is a story that keeps you coming back for more. Extremely well performed and believable . Loved it!

I would have preferred stronger character development. The bringing together of the story was slow and drawn out. I kept losing interest. It took me a bit of time to finish it.

I enjoyed this book because the author really focuses on character development. Interwoven within the intrigue of the story line is the character flaws which turn out to be their strengths. The reader can relate to the imperfections of the characters and the way circumstances create the choices of the good guys and the bad ones.

Fast moving and several twists. I believe this is a follow up from the book , The Second Girl.
Some foul language but not as much as in the Second Girl. Great writer! I will be reading his next book. A great crime book.
