She's the granddaughter of a rival club's President. She's barely legal and way too innocent for me. I'm too old. Too hardened by life, but one taste of her and it's too late. I've claimed her as my own. And I'll die before I let anyone take her away from me. Unfortunately, it might just come to that. Bree says we're soul mates. Fated for each other. When I'm staring down the barrel of a gun about to lose everything. It seems like fate might have given me the shaft.

There's me: Micah Owens. Tattoo artist at Damage Control. No parents or siblings. A past that still gives me nightmares. And then there's her: Evangeline, the girl who saved my life and haunts my more pleasant dreams. Only she doesn't know who I really am, and telling her might well send her fleeing for the hills. She deserves better than a loser like me. She's pretty. She's clever. She's goddamn sexy and has a heart of gold. Which is why I can't tell her.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I have listened to a ton of audiobooks and do not usually write a review. I only wanted to say that I can relate to the damage and difficulty these people have in their lives and it is nice to be able to read a romance and true love story that started off with some really shitty lives and tough breaks. It was a breath of fresh air and great to see a hea with a crappy start. I love Jo Raven’s writing and Erin Mallon’s male voice is amazing.

I'm a man without a conscience. I deal in murder and mayhem. I'm the best at what I do. Frankie Helburn is supposed to be an easy job. A means to flush her father out of hiding. Simple. Except there isn't anything simple about Frankie or the secrets she's keeping. She's stubborn as hell and the sexiest god damn thing I have ever seen, sending dark, dirty animalistic desire coursing through my veins. She's cocaine with legs. A f--king addiction that makes me question things I've never questioned before.

What in the world happened to the narration? Troy was great but Lucy Rivers...wth? I have listened to several other books she narrated but this was absolutely horrible narration by her. I honestly had the hardest time listening to it. She sounded so fake and over exaggerated in her female voice. The men’s voices...it honestly sounded like someone with speech disabilities at times...I mean Duke...are you kidding? I just don’t understand. I mean, Lucy Rivers has never been a favorite, in fact, I don’t even remember her other than I know I have listened to other books. I have never been this appalled by narration of a well known authors book than I am with this...because of Lucy. The book is great, but I just can’t believe how much I hate listening to this. Listen to Duke...”seriously Sarrrrruuuuhhh”. Ugh...cringe. I have listened to 463 audiobooks and have never felt the need to write a negative review about a narrator...until now. Sorry, I know this sounds so rude. The book is great. Troy is great. I am really mad t feeling Lucy on this one.
