It's a radical, provocative idea: We're not entitled to get offended or stay angry. The idea of our own "righteous anger" is a myth. It is the number-one problem in our societies today and, as Dallas Willard says, Christians have not been taught out of it.

Reading this book for my book club was perfect timing ...as God does. I am having a crisis of religion (not Faith) and it blows down to how I feel about anger and not being offended. Not that I don't get angry or offended....of course I do, but I can't live in those places and it has begun to make me feel out of touch with so much of the religion I run into while living out my faith. This was so uplifting and encouraging.

Jazz can't sleep, Sylvester doesn't want to see her, and worst of all, Tybalt has withdrawn from her entirely, retreating into the Court of Cats as he tries to recover from his abduction. Toby is floundering, unable to help the people she loves most heal. She needs a distraction. She needs a quest. What she doesn't need is the abduction of her estranged human daughter, Gillian.

Everyone wondered about Shaye Archer's past. Including Shaye. Shaye Archer's life effectively began the night police found her in an alley, beaten and abused and with no memory of the previous 15 years, not even her name. Nine years later, she's a licensed private investigator with a single goal - to get answers for her clients when there aren't supposed to be any. And maybe, someday, answers for herself.

I am decidedly not a romance reader, but somehow I love this series! The world building is clever, the narrator is talented and the stories have just enough of a twist in the mystery to keep me wondering about the plot even though I know there will be a happy ending. I really enjoy the romantic tension without the graphic details (why can't everyone do this ?) . The author has managed to write a romance series that even this romance series hater truly enjoys.
