Laura Nichols was always up for a challenge and the job Justin Roman has offered her is the perfect showcase for her talents. Not only was he dubious of her ability to complete the restoration of his Louisiana mansion in time for his wedding, but she was also frustrated by his arrogance tempered only by his good looks. But if he is so doubtful of her then why does he give her full artistic license even when it obviously angers his fiancé? Laura dives into the job, determined to prove the maddening man wrong.

For a 40 year old story, it was interesting to experience a slightly different time. The most notable being the absence of cell phones and computers. The main character Laura is 22 and knows a lot of detailed information about old southern houses and other history. In modern times we have all that information readily available for free any time. For her, she would have had to actually learn and memorize all the details required to do her job! The author really gives us a lot of information about the subjects by way of Laura and her mom. I feel bad for anyone reading this in 1980 who couldn’t just look up pictures of what a Mallard bed is instantly like I did.

The narrator was good but her voice is a bit whispery, and relaxing, so if you listen to this in a comfortable chair or bed you might doze off. It’s not boring, just relaxing!

I love follow up stories like this one! Left wondering what happened to a side character in another book? Want to catch up on what happened to your favorite character during their happily ever after? Peggy Henderson comes through for us and doesn’t leave us wondering. I truly appreciate that. Caleb was a likable kid in the Teton romance series that I’m sure many of us said, hmm, I wonder how his life goes? Well, here it is!

I found myself fully engrossed in the story, especially thanks to the great narration by the same narrator as the other books.

Despite the title, it’s not a Christmas story and can be read in any season by anyone who is in the mood for a heartwarming historical wilderness romance!

I really loved the Teton and Yellowstone Romance series, so this is the perfect story for someone like me who loves romantic Christmas books and movies. I just can't get enough of them. So it's awesome that Peggy Henderson wrote this story with our well known and loved characters. I love to see what's going on in their lives after their original love story has already ended.

I don't want to spoil anything, but if you liked the other books (which I know you did), then you will love this even though it is a novella not a full length novel. Also, the accuracy of this book (and the whole series) is the best you could ask for. The descriptions of the area are so well done that I truly feel like I've been there before.

The same narrator from the Teton series is back, who I think does the characters really well!

Maura O'Neal would be insane to pass up the cruise she and her great aunt had been planning just because the old woman injured her foot and Maura would have to go alone. It would be the perfect chance for Maura to enjoy a well-deserved vacation and she could do the research for her great aunt's next romance novel. But she didn't count on the ship's owner, Nikolaos Vassos, to be so infuriating, so arrogant, so stubborn…so handsome.

The story wasn't all that great but I did listen to the whole thing because the narrator really improved it. Keep in mind this book was published in 1980. I could definitely tell it was old but that just made it different. The romance is a little far fetched and of course, predictable. I mean come on, they were on a one week cruise...

If you are obsessed with the Yellowstone Romance series like I am, then you will love this extra story that goes along with Yellowstone Redemption and features Chase (and Sarah). I really like Chase and I thought the narrator from the first book was perfect for him. He is the narrator for this book, too, and once again portrays Chase perfectly!
If Yellowstone Redemption left you wondering what happened to Chase on his journey, now you find out. This is a story that leaves you feeling good when it's over even though it goes by fast and you're sad to leave 1800's Yellowstone.
This is a series that can be read over and over again, enjoying it more and more every time as you pick up things you maybe missed the first time.
This is one of those audiobooks where, when you listen to it in the car, you get to your destination and you don't want to get out!

The story isn't too bad, but it is a little strange. I will blame it on it being an older book, about an older time. It would be easy to be offended by this book nowadays.

The narrator was terrible. I didn't like her voice, but could have dealt with it if the editing was better. This was the worst editing I have ever heard in an audiobook. Crucial pauses are eliminated, making the flow of the narration very off. Worst of all are all the repeated lines from when she messed up and started recording again! Did nobody listen to this even once before publishing it? Also, narrators shouldn't have ice water around when they're recording, you can hear the ice settling. Please...just have regular water! It's quiet!

Beautiful young Melanie Johnston had every reason to hate Roland Donovan. It was this man who caused the death of her beloved grandfather. It was he who possessed her in a night of mischief and madness, forever staining her honor. It was he who drove away the well-horn suitor she was to have wed. There was only one way for Melanie to take revenge - she would marry him and then use her every feminine wile to destroy him. But Melanie did not dream then of the strength of her own hungers.

I'm glad I read the note about this book being written in 1979 first. It is hard to say this book is actually a romance because their relationship was just ....not one. Being essentially forced together, I understand it would have been more difficult than most of us could comprehend.
Thw historical aspect was my favorite. Great descriptions and facts!
The narrator was very good!

As soon as I saw the name of the narrator I was unsure I wanted to listen to this book, but I like this author so I tried. I ended up reading the Kindle version instead. You'd think a woman with a British accent would be perfect for this type of story, and her regular narration voice is perfectly fine. Her character voices are terrible. She somehow manages to make every character unlikable and makes them come across completely different than intended. Every character has an annoying, sour type voice. She also emphasises words incorrectly which makes everything worse. The characters in this particular story are supposed to be quick witted and intelligent, but the narrator makes them sound ridiculous.
