The Italian was awful.

The pronunciation and the lack of male/female agreement when Italian was used was very distracting. For someone who knows the language, placing the accent in the wrong place made it difficult to follow. There was also the issue of placing an “a” at the end of a male word and an “o” at the end of a female word. The audio version of this book would have been so much better if these small details were fixed.

I would have preferred an unabridged version but I couldn't find one. It was OK.

I'm glad that I purchased the book prior to reading the reviews. Except for some difficulty in the beginning distinguishing the characters, I thought it was a nail biting book. The psychology behind Pierce's less than wise pursuit of the truth was spot on for his character. Totally understandable if not wise decisions were made.
