Badly battered by an apocalyptic storm, the crew of the Arctic Promise find themselves in increasingly dire circumstances as they sail blindly into unfamiliar waters and an ominously thickening fog. Without functioning navigation or communication equipment, they are lost and completely alone. One by one, the men fall prey to a mysterious illness. Deckhand Noah Cabot is the only person unaffected by the strange force plaguing the ship and her crew, which does little to ease their growing distrust of him.

Loved the characters, not a perfect book, but it will hold your interest. The ending needs re-work; it is incomplete and we are left with so many questions that should be answered after spending 11 hours with these characters.

I couldn't finish this one. I really did try, but the story is everywhere and nowhere. Doesn't help that the male characters all sounded the same.

Hate when author's don't describe any of the character's race...except the black characters. FYI Kate Russell, Elvira would be funny even without the ghettoish accent. Not sure why she has to sound so different from every other character.

Book was okay. Having heard the other books in this series, the Brock/Jake sounded like Hawk, who sounded like the rest of the leading males.

Good book, but not worth a credit.

A masterful, intensely suspenseful novel about a reader whose obsession with a reclusive writer goes far too far - a book about the power of storytelling, starring the same trio of unlikely and winning heroes King introduced in Mr. Mercedes. "Wake up, genius." So begins King's instantly riveting story about a vengeful reader. The genius is John Rothstein, an iconic author who created a famous character, Jimmy Gold, but who hasn't published a book for decades.

Lucy Delacourt's temp position isn't quite her dream job but it pays the bills. The highlight of her day is riding the elevator in the mornings with a handsome stranger. Tall, dark, and sexy as hell, Lucy knows he's way out of her league, but a girl can look, right? Everything changes the day the stranger seduces her. Completely out of character, she yields without a fight, but she has no idea her wanton acts with a man whose name she doesn't know will change her life forever. I couldn't finish, its so bad. The summary promises a hot, exciting story. However, the actual book reads like one that I wrote in high school. For instance, the lead character (Jeremiah) has minimal dialogue and he issues only one to two word responses throughout...completely drove me up the wall. Not sure if the female character was young or not. Clarissa Knightly's voice sounds great, but way too mature if this is supposed to be a young, fresh out of college young woman.
