Love the French gargoyle. Because I enjoyed all the other characters I forgave the main character for all her fault. This author seems to think all female main characters get lost in thought and tune out of conversations. She had another main character do it in another series. I found it odd that the love interest wouldn't confide in his girlfriend through all three books. I think I would have found a new playmate. I did really like the premise of the main character. Having eternal youth through the philosopher stone. I love the tie in to a wealth of alchemy background.

Felt like the author could figure out a good ending so she just stopped. The characters and the story were lacking. Everything seemed disconnected. I didn't find the story believable and I didn't think the characters related to each other either. I'll pass on the rest of the series.

Mahu -- a generally negative Hawaiian term for homosexuals -- introduces a unique character to detective fiction. Kimo Kanapa'aka is a handsome, mixed-race surfer living in Honolulu, a police detective confronting his homosexuality in an atmosphere of macho bravado within the police force. A man of intelligence, strength, honesty, resourcefulness, and intense dedication to the people of Hawaii, Kimo is a hard-boiled hero you will never forget.

Two things I really really liked about this book. First it wasn't filled with gratuitous sex. The other was the fact that it gave a very authentic depiction of the struggles of man being coming out to his world. It showed the very real challenges to develop a new working relationship with his family that he has always loved but now feels estranged from. Joel Leslie did an awesome job as usual. He is probably the best man to man numerators out there.

First I have to say Ms. Hawk is a true master. And after reading this book it appears she is in more ways than one. An artfully told story with the most amazing erotic overtones. D/s in fiction is always exciting but this time it is from the viewpoint of the submissive. Is that the way they really think? Wildly erotic. I was expecting to hear about the further adventures of our last couple but once again the author masterfully switched character within a particular group. Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!!!

Ms Hawk not only writes some agonizingly hot sex scenes but she weaves a great story. Loved the new take on witch and familiar. She really captures the essence of a cat in her erotic male character. Did not think I would like the femme feline boy but again Ms. Hawk show true artistry in making the femme and masculine seamlessly blend. Awesome story that will make your trouser uncomfortably tight more than once.

This book create a wonderful fairytale tale about gay life. It's incredible seeing the story unfold from two perspectives. To widely different perspectives. And it certainly opens more questions about why gay man classify each other the way they do. I love the way this dealt with so many perspectives. The outside world telling family are gay and help people just perceive you as you are, whether you like it or not. The book made me laugh made me cry all in all a great listen. The characters were brought to life by the narrator Joel Leslie. Thank you so much for your efforts.
