In The Scribe, the fifth and final book in the Sons of Encouragement series, beloved author Francine Rivers illuminates the life of Silas. Like the other Sons of Encouragement, this book tells the story of a lesser-known biblical character who made an impact on eternity. The Scribe tells the story of Silas, the man behind the spotlight who recorded most of the New Testament Scriptures we know today.

A successful LA artist, Roman Velasco appears to have everything he could possibly want - money, women, fame. Only Grace Moore, his reluctant, newly hired personal assistant, knows how little he truly has. The demons of Roman's past seem to echo through the halls of his empty mansion and out across his breathtaking Topanga Canyon view. But Grace doesn't know how her boss secretly wrestles with those demons: by tagging buildings as the Bird, a notorious but unidentified graffiti artist - an alter ego that could destroy his career and land him in prison.

Outstanding. Well written, awesomely narrated. Handsomely pulls the reader in. What a great book!!! For so many years, various teachings attempt to show us God and His love, but experiencing Him as Roman Velasko did is something far, far more. I vividly recall almost dying. I soberly remember my out-of-body experience. People didn’t believe me, but Jesus saved me. And, as the songwriter once wrote, “Jesus I’ll never forget what you’ve done for me.”

I’ve read several books during 2018 and, by far, this book is at the top of my list.

This is the girl next door telling her story. And she’s letting me know I have a story, too. It’s candid and encouraging - witty with a wealth of great wisdom. We can feel the honesty through the pages, yet I could’t put the book down.

I have been on the planet through at least 8 presidents, and this was my first time where I felt connected to the inside of the White House and its day-to-day operations. Impressive and encouraging!

Love her relationship with family and her true friends - those who know her beyond her accomplishments and the White House. Love her heartfelt recap of the many happenings of high school and the tragedy of gun violence. Loved her parents; felt like I knew them. Her father reminded me of a great man I know and love.

There’s so much to the book that I cannot do it justice through my writings. But, sufficient to say, I pray for Mrs. Obama that she continue to press in even deeper. May God bless her and her great husband. The pair, though admittedly not perfect, their lives displays their willingness to grow and help others grow. Amen.

This book is well done. I wish to also honor Penguin Random House for an outstanding job. I would love to sit over a cappuccino with those who worked this project fir it is well done.

What a book! Thank you Marshawn for writing it and thank you Jack for encouraging Marshawn.

I received this book as a gift from my pastor who attended The Millions Conference. God bless her a million times over. It’s a true game changer! I was SO wedged in fear, doubt and unbelief. Ninety-Nine percent of what was shared was me. I needed it because Little Me talked all the time.

After reading, all I can say is Praise God. What I gained from this book is: (1) The book is a manual/guide, not just a great read. (2) I learned to silence Little Me. (3) Finish what you start what totally for me, and most importantly, (4) I Matter.

Fear was smothering me. But at this moment, I see so differently. Old things are truly past away, look, all things new.
