Greer Kadetsky is a shy college freshman when she meets the woman she hopes will change her life. Faith Frank, dazzlingly persuasive and elegant at sixty-three, has been a central pillar of the women's movement for decades, a figure who inspires others to influence the world. Upon hearing Faith speak for the first time, Greer--madly in love with her boyfriend, Cory, but still full of longing for an ambition that she can't quite place--feels her inner world light up. And then, astonishingly, Faith invites Greer to make something out of that sense of purpose, leading Greer down the most exciting path of her life as it winds toward and away from her meant-to-be love story with Cory and the future she'd always imagined.

Loved this book and every Gerri Hill book I have listened to so far (5). For the first time I actually enjoyed the narrator. I hesitate every time I see Abby Craden’s name because I disliked the gravelly voice she has used in the past. This was the first time she didn’t use it. Therefore, five stars across the board.

Loved the story. I hesitated to listen to it due to some of the reviews about the narrator. I found her to be fine enough. I wish she had a different voice for each of the characters, but I was able to easily listen to it. I have certainly heard a lot worse where I was unable to continue.
Overall this is definitely worth a listen. A fun pirate story.

The story was pretty good. A fun fantasy romp. I would’ve enjoyed it even more and may have given it 5 stars if the narrator had different voices for each of the characters. It would’ve made it easier to listen to without constantly hearing blah blah said over and over again.

I loved the X-files TV show, but for whatever reason, I just didn’t care for the book or performance style. Maybe because I already know so much about the TV storyline it just didn’t appeal to me. I still rated the performance 4 stars because even though I didn’t care for it, I believe the cast did a great job. It just didn’t hook me. If you like books read in this fashion, then you’ll probably like it more than I did.

I almost made it through (stopped with 40 minutes left) because the story was pretty good. The narrator was just awful. The main character’s voice was like a high pitch teen. The male voices were laughable. I’d like to listen the rest of the series; however, I don’t think I can take another book with this reader.
