Aaron Hope plays video games, like a lot, just not professionally. When he entered the EpiX! Games! PVP World Championship on a lark, this college senior never expected to make it to the final round, nor to get drugged and shoved into the alpha test for World of Ruul. The premise for this virtual reality MMO is simple. Find all eight treasures scattered throughout the world before the maelstrom's forces devour everything in sight. The only catch? You can't log off, and if you die...well, let's just say what happens in the game doesn't stay in the game.

I going to try to make this review straight forward.
1. The author f-around and made a New York best seller.
2. The narrator killed it.
3. About the book: Take every awesome action move from the 90, add the best anime of our time, through in some of the best parts of your favorite books, and sprinkle on web toons for spice. Now place it all in virtual reality and that what this series is made of.
This story has Easter eggs all over it, great one liners, your mama type jokes, lovable characters, and nods to the best stuff (Dresden files,Ready Player One, Iron Druid, Moonlight Sculptor, DBZ, Blood Sport, The Matrix and whole bunch of other things) all put together to make the start of a epic series.

We colonized 700 planets. Humankind enjoyed the benefits of expansion room and the end of wars. We even disbanded our military. Then the Krall found us. The Krall have used thousands of years of combat to select the genes of the strongest and fastest warriors. They are a species determined to dominate the entire galaxy, through destruction and annihilation of every opponent.

Koban is an uninhabited high-gravity planet with impossibly fast savage animals, which employ organic superconducting nerves. This deadly world is where the Krall tested humans for war capability.

I couldn't get past the first 2 hour, the plot build up is garbage, and the narrator is not very good

I just can't get enough. It's mesmerising absolutely captivating. I can only equate this story to George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series. One you start you just don't want to stop. Also Nick Podehl narration is fantstic. he one the best narrators out their you should also have a listen to some of the other books he has done.

For the first time, the full origin story of Gin Blanco's transformation into the fearsome assassin known as the Spider - book 10 in the red-hot Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series. In a prequel tale, Gin Blanco goes through her paces on the way to become the most feared assassin in the Ashland. Her mentor, Fletcher Lane, is not going to go easy on her - if she’s going to become a fearsome killer, she has to learn to use her elemental Stone and Ice powers alongside old-fashioned human street smarts.

As you maybe can tell I have been into this series for a while now. I don't know what happened but the cool, calm and collected tone of the narrator really sucked the life out of the book for me 😵. Not only that, but from the beginning of the book I was yelling at Gin for being an ass and not taking her F-ing blinders off 😠. It was unappealing to the point that I am thinking of dropping the series all together 😔. In the end it was ruff for me to get though.
