I stopped for a while because the book was SO REAL I was angry with two of the characters. SO THANKFUL that I picked it back up. I should have known what to expect from Nicholas Sparks! I look forward to reading more from him!!

I listened to this book twice. I am sure I will listen to it again. I am so thankful for people like this author who's character rose above it ALL!!! It took a lot for him to lay it all on the line. I kept feeling like God was by his side through everything I love what his wife kept telling him. . My favorite part is when he drew on someone who ended up giving Bibles to all law enforcement officers and then said that man changed his life. I thought this book would make me mad but it only confirmed what we already knew about the Clinton's. It seems as though Byrne's character continued to grow even stronger through it all. I am sorry to learn about how much he and his fellow officers went through. I wish I could thank them all for everything they have done and continue to do for America!!!.

Mackenzie Allen Phillips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation, and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, in this midst of his great sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack one wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change his life forever.

This book was hard to stop listening to. I love family and friends and knew the interruptions were necessary however I COULD NOT WAIT to finish listening to it! I sometimes felt like the characters (Trinity) were talking to me. This book was very well written! I am SO THANKFUL that the author shared this with others and was open to rewrites to make it the perfect compilation of everything (short way of saying it). I learned how to forgive and let go a long time ago. The funny thing is that my son who has had a difficult year is the one that read and recommended this book to me. Several times in different chapters I had tears streaming down my face because I knew this opened up a new world of healing to my son. My son had already allowed God to begin working "through" him before he ever picked up this book. This book has left a lasting impression on him that he can now share with his wife and use to teach his 3 young daughters. Thank you for sharing your life with the world Paul!!!
