Pierce, the Earl of Wainthorpe wins the guardianship of Bianca Salisbury in a card game from his enemy, Lord Fairfax. Pierce blames him for the death of his mother.

Bianca, although has feelings for Pierce, she is not going to go down the same road her mother did, after her father left, but Lord Fairfax, which is her uncle, she is not fond of him either, goes willingly with Pierce.

This is a lovely love story, as Pierce has fallen in love with Bianca.

The narration is very good as well.

In listening to this audio, which the narration was great, I had read that even tho it was part of a series, it was a good stand alone book.. Unfortunately, I didn't find it as such. I wish I had listened to the others in a series.

That said, as a romance, it was a good love story, and nice to see an 18th century man falls for a 21st century strong willed woman. I love time travel stories as well as strong female parts.

This was a short read, and some pretty hot and magical moments in it.

Salem witch trials have always interest me.. This is the first Heather B. Moore book I've listened to and it was outstanding, as well as Nancy Peterson's narration of it.

This book goes back and forth between past and present for Susan Martin, as a young woman, meeting her husband, then as an older lady, in prison for witchcraft.

Nancy Peterson's narration of the book was excellent especially as a young Susan, then older Susan.

If you have any interest it this subject, this is a great read and listen.

Fynn: I caught the silhouette of a woman out of the corner of my eye when I was carrying out an execution. She could have been a spy, so I had no choice but to follow her. When I cornered her in an abandoned house, I knew I had to have her. Anya: I'm just trying to survive this bloody war. When I heard men's voices on the other side of the fence, I couldn't help but be curious. The sound of gunshots sent me scurrying back to my camp. I never expected to be followed.

I wasn't sure of this book at first, but as I got listening to it, I got use to the narration.

Flynn is a Prince who has invaded a country, and spies Anya as she's searching for food for her camp. A resistant camp. Once he realize that she's not spying on them, he starts to watch her, and falls in love.

Their love story is quick, but we need to remember that Flynn has been watching her for a long time, so it was as quick for him.

I enjoyed this book as it's not part of a series and it's standalone

After Julia's father passes away, she heads to Italy to discover her heritage. Upon arriving, people there seem to know who she is, but she's not really aware, but slowly, she is reawakening.

I loved the premise of this story and the history behind it, but it was a little long.

Overall, Claire's narration was very good and quite of few accents were used, however, the American accent that was used for Julia and Julia's father, I had a hard time listening to. It was almost a Valley Girl accent. Besides that, I did enjoy this book
