I have always loved Bob Hoskins (Simon Prebble) and his narration in this book is wonderful as usual. The book it’s self however was OK. I still had seven hours left and since I did not find it stimulating I stopped listening to the book all-together. Not much of a storyline and what’s there is silly

The heroine was so childish in her manner of thinking especially at the end of the book. The last hour should have been completely deleted and what would have been left could then be categorized as wonderful. The reasoning why she was holding back while her every other thought showed her infatuation with the hero was silly. Also I felt like she was a gold digger since when she first met him she said he even smelled like money. I hate seeing men or any other human being like that. This is exactly why, young girls/ladies end up with men twice their age. Although I do realize here, SY tried to make the hero devastatingly handsome with a wonderful voice and accent. I guess he was the full package. 😊

The story is historical and yet you will find mechanical hearts, airplanes, vampires, werewolves in addition to human looking and acting robots. Initially I had my mind set on not Liking the storyline and only got it because I have a romance package and was running short of books I have interest in reading. However the more I read the more engaging it became. I absolutely loved it. It’s funny how we accept books on werewolves and Vampires but I never thought I would like this combo all in one topped with technology and all set in historical times. It was different and I loved it.

This storyline seemed like one written by Lucinda Brant and her French outspoken heroine, except we have NB as the narrator instead of Alex Wyndham ( another extraordinary narrator). Storyline seems like a book in her series Nobel Satyr, so it sounded a bit redundant to me.

A bit more passion also than I am used to for Elizabeth Kingston, however, a cute storyline. Nicholas Boulton is my favorite narrator and he truly adds so much to the storyline ❤️
