I have not listened to the first book in this series, but Eddie does an excellent job summarizing book 1 for us so we can follow along pretty well. This book is written in the first person and Eddie actually talks to us, the listeners/readers. It’s a unique and entertaining way for the main character to communicate past events and get us caught up to what is going on in the present. He is kind of funny and a bit of a jerk!

Narration was pretty good and brought the story to life.

It was pretty fast paced and something was always going on in his crazy life. The police is after him, Rachel (an old enemy) is out to get him, and he is investigating some mysterious disappearances. There is also someone he is interested in... Never a dull moment.

I’m looking forward to the next book.

The sea is the only life Juan's ever known - not counting the decade he spent as a vampire. Those years gave him a healthy aversion for anything supernatural, but he's a shifter now. It's way better than being one of the undead, but he still doesn't trust magic. Paired up with Aura to teach him, he falls and falls hard, but she spurns his advances.

I have not listened to book 1 but thought I would give book 2 a try. The story had several characters to keep up with. It was a bit confusing at times. Unfortunately, The story did not grab my attention. I found it hard to get through.

Narration was ok.

I have started listening/reading books half way through a series before and gone back to read the previous books because the story and characters were interesting and captivating. This story was ok but I did not feel connected or enjoyed the storyline as much as I had hoped.

The story was interesting and kept my attention. The world building was good and the idea of separation between Witch abilities was very unique. The story is slow building with some twists and turns that keeps you wondering who the real bad guys are!

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life. This narrator makes each character unique and you always know who is talking.

The plot was slow and the descriptions were very detailed. The story doesn’t pick up until towards the last few chapters. The story concludes in a major cliffhanger!

I’m looking forward To the next book!

I enjoy cozy mysteries with witches and cats but this one was just not for me. The story did not flow well and the characters were not interesting. I had to really push myself to stay on track and try to finish this book. It was a fairly short book but it was harder than it should have been to get through.

Narration was not my favorite either. I found it monotone and hard to keep going. Her voice was ok, but the delivery needed some help.

Very hard. I terrify her. When I get close to her, she darts away. She calls me a rogue and a brute. No one can talk to me this way. I’ve only spent a single evening with the fiery female, but suddenly a wife is what I need. She’ll scream. She’ll moan. She’ll writhe beneath me. I’ll bend her to my will. I’ll show her the pleasure of submission. I’ll make Perri my queen.

Lisa Lace is a very creative writer and her stories are always fun to read. Although things go terribly wrong for Perri at first, not all is what it seems and things slowly but surely get better and conclude with a sweet HEA.

The stakes are higher in this unique planet because their males mate for life and need children to save them from extinction.

Narration is well done and brings the story to life.

I’m hoping there will be more stories about Auxem men and early women. Armon has several brothers that need a HEA as well. I’m looking forward to the next TerraMates book!
