Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No, not time we'll spent, because I can't hear the story because the narration is so bad.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Haven't gotten to the end, not sure I'm going to make it to the end.

How could the performance have been better?

Put some life into it. Seems so droll.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably not

As an idealistic 23-year-old English teacher at Wilson High School in Long Beach, California, Erin Gruwell confronted a room of "unteachable, at-risk" students. One day she intercepted a note with an ugly racial caricature, and angrily declared that this was precisely the sort of thing that led to the Holocaust, only to be met by uncomprehending looks. So she and her students undertook a life-changing, eye-opening, spirit-raising odyssey against intolerance and misunderstanding.

Would you listen to The Freedom Writers Diary again? Why?

I would listen again, as I'm sure there are things I would pick up that I might have missed.

Any additional comments?

I had seen the movie before, listening to the different diaries read by different people was a bit confusing at first. But excellent read. Wish all students had a teacher like this one.

Would you try another book from Ilona Andrews and/or Renee Raudman?

I wasn't a fan of this. Just not my type of book, not a fan of the narration either. (sorry0

What could Ilona Andrews have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Nothing, it wasn't my type of story.

Would you be willing to try another one of Renee Raudman’s performances?

Not if she has that accent for real, it got a little bothersome

Firefly Lane is the poignant, powerful story of two women and the friendship that becomes the mainstay of their lives. For 30 years, Tully and Kate buoy each other through life, weathering the storms of friendship: jealousy, anger, hurt, resentment. They think they've survived it all, until a single act of betrayal tears them apart...and puts their courage and friendship to the ultimate test.

Where does Firefly Lane rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best books I've listened to so far. 2nd of Kristin Hannahs books I've read. She's a great author

What was one of the most memorable moments of Firefly Lane?

Even tho they had their problems, they came back together when it counted most

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A voice, I don't like reading, so listening is the only way I "read" books. I have to be able to listen to their voice, or it will get deleted. Susan did a great job!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I can't recommend or not recommend it. Can't listen to it for the narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I'm not a big reader, but when I do read it has to grab me. Listening to audiobooks is about the only way I really "read". This narrator does not grab me. It's like listening to my 86 year old Aunt read. Seriously puts me to sleep. Sorry
