I truly enjoyed this book. Having spent about two years working on my own theraputic journey and having tried to seek couples therapy with an ex, I truly appreciate just about everything I heard in this book. I found it to be easy to listen to (despite some emotionally challenging content) because the author seems very genuine, honest, down to earth, humble and has a pleasant sense of humor. I found much of this book and the autgors presence to be relatable. The Gottman's approach seems very respecful. I can't help but wonder what my couples therapy experience would have been like with them and if it would have changed things or the outcome with my ex.

Enjoyed the book until chapter 6. That is when the author expresses being saved by Christianity and claims to believe she was made by God. Bible thumper. I can't find insperation or take seriously advice fron someone who cannot live with reality themselves.

Very glad it was read by Russell himself. Excellent listen. I laughed a lot but with a deep sense of connection, understanding and meaning. I don't think there is anything shallow about this book. I enjoyed it very much. It was recommended by my therapist so there's an extra note of value.

My therapist suggested I read this book. I liked it a lot and would like to put a lot of emphasis on how well it seemed to be read. This recording was very easy to listen to, aside from some of my struggles in my personal life that were at moments unpleasant to think about. I would highly recommend it and only wish my partner had been as ambitious to read and work through the practices mentioned in the book with me. Note that it can at times be a depressing read in the midst of a break up or while being single. However, I'm glad I finished the book and plan to listen to it again for reminders.
