This was fun and sweet, despite the heavy subject matter. John is "caught in the act" with another young man at university and ends up in a mental institution. He is of a wealthy family and he is therefore better treated at the asylum than some of the lower class may be, but it's still a horrid place to be confined.

He develops a friendship and later a love affair with one of the attendants at the place and I was quite concerned as to ow this would end well. The plot is a bit too gothic novel / penny dreadful type thing for my liking, but it was a fun ride after all and I was enjoying myself whilst listening.

The ending is sweet and all you could ask for.

3.5 stars for John and his bear of an attendant.

Super sweet second chance christmas story with great narration. A bit too short though, there were several things that I would have liked to know more detail about. Such as the fact that we were told Keir were the dominant partner in their earlier relationship, but this time around we see him only i a submissive role to Douglas. A prologue or flashback to what they were like before would have been nice.

Also I would have liked a longer conclusion. The ending felt more like a HFN than a HEA because it came about so abruptly. An epilogue further into the future would have helped me believe in them as a forever couple.

What a fun little space pirate romp this was. Not a trope I normally read, but I love Marie Sexton's writing and I seem to have developed some kind of Pavlovian response to John Solo's voice.

We are thrown directly into the story, but the world building is still well done and at no point are you confused as to what is going on. Ms. Sexton seamlessly weave in facts about the world whilst telling the story, so the reader never gets lost.

Despite the fact that our two main characters are captor and prisoner, the relationship still develop quite organically and the plot ensures that any doubts you had about the power balance between Tristan and Valero are negated.

I warmly recommend this short audiobook. It's perfect entertainment for a long journey.

I have enjoyed this author and narrator before, but this series did not work for me. Too much instalove, too shallow characters and the kink was just too light and cutesy s'cute. I'm hard pressed to even admit that this is BDSM in my book. But that's me - I like my kink with a bit of grit and preferably a bit of pain. I want my subs submitting from a position of strength and I want my doms to be just a tad on the sadistic site...

I think this book would be great as a gateway book for people with an interest in light bdsm, because we do not get much more than a bit of sugar kink in either of the books. But for voracious BDSM readers like me, it was just too light and fluffy.
Furthermore I thought Kenneth Obi - whom I normally enjoy - made some weird narration choices and I had trouble figuring out who spoke sometimes, especially in Brent's story.

The stories range from 2-3 stars, same does the narration. So overall this would get 2.5 stars from me.

So, here's a serious 1st world problem: I cannot decide which book in the Housemates series is my favourite out of #3, #4 and #5 *scratches head*

This audiobook definitely put book #4 in the lead. Because as hot as it was reading it, it was scorching listening to it! The narrator, Carter Lewis, was new to me - and new to this series - but do not let that scare you away, because, man, did he bring it!

I hold on to the belief, that this is the filthiest book Jay has ever witten - and yes, perv that I am , I love it! The cam sessions are steaming hot and listening to the audiobook makes a one-handed read so much easier LOL! Not for nothing did I title my original review of this book: Watching and Wanking!

I can warmly recommend this fun and filthy piece of feel good romance. It works well as a stand alone, but the three first books in the series are great too, so do not cheat yourselves out of those.

I have owned this book since it came out the first time, back in 2012 and I have re-read it at least 4 times since then. It remains one of my favourite GFy novels, where the GFY is actually done right.

I love Mitchell's characters. They are real and flawed and, a lot of the time, kind of jerks. Nate is a case in point. He is so incredibly annoying that you kind of want to slap him. And yet, I can't help loving him. Kellan is a brat. He is manipulative and spoiled and yet, he is also sweet and so charming, that he wins you over.
I love how Mitchell is all about show instead of tell. This may be the number one reason why I have read almost everyone of her books several times.

The story may be a bit unbelievable, but it is funny and sexy and GFY/ straight guy virgins are my guilty pleasure. Mitchell can write sex like nobody else and the tension she can create between characters is smoking hot!

Highly recommend this and every other book in the series. I truly hope that the remainder of the series will be out in audio too soon! The narrator was new to me, but he did a fine job of narrating the story.
