biggest problem, the dooku voice actor made no effort whatsoever to imitate the dooku style we know from both the movie and the animated series. it really ruined what was a decent story. having voice actors rather than a single narrator doing them all was a cool idea, but the radio drama style wasn't as good as a classic audiobook. it made it hard to tell who was speaking as a lot of the characters had indistinct, extremely similar voices. the ventress actress sometimes seemed to forget how to do ventress voice by the end. she nailed it in the first half though.
the sound effects we're great, as with all star wars audiobooks. I just think they need to not do this radio program style again. had this been written like the recent "master and apprentice" Qui Gon book it would have been easier to follow. they did a fantastic job showing some mysterious aspects of the force. the..... let's say, dangerous influence on young dooku needs a book of her own. and the creepy part of the book..... well done. that's what we need more of. mystery. surprise. hidden things. dangerous things.
overall, it had potential, but fell short. I think a story about dooku should have sounded like the dooku we know. imagine if the next story is about master Yoda and they don't even try and imitate Yoda, they just have him played by some guy named Rick who sounds like a dude named Todd.
unfortunate, that would be.

I have read all of the star wars books. I have been disappointed in every book since Disney took over. this one finally lived up to the old EU. focused on the Jedi, and the mysteries of the force, this book hit it out of the park! absolutely fantastic! this is what star wars is all about.

He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

the best audiobook I've purchased so far, and hands down the best performance. James marsters was so fantastic, I was completely immersed in the story, his timing delivering the humerous parts had me busting out laughing unexpectedly in public.
