Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this audiobook because the narration was excellent, the main character was sassy and not totally typical, and the tone was overall upbeat. It was just a fun listen that made me a bit sad to hear it end.

What Jack needs is an excuse to leave town. Ever since rescuing four teenagers from a car wreck, he's been hailed as a hero and the attention is making him itchy, especially since his too-pretty ex-wife is back, angling for a reunion. He's always liked Emmaline. She needs a weekend date? No problem. So when they wind up in bed together, Em chalks it up to red wine and chocolate cake, just one impulsive night not to be repeated. But Jack's pushing for more.

What didn’t you like about Amy Rubinate’s performance?

I liked the story well enough, but the narrator has this weird way of dragging out the first syllable of the last word of each sentence (or something like that.) "Amaazing." "OMGeeee" It makes her sound like she's sneering through all the lines. It's obnoxious because it gives all the characters this stuck-up snobbish tone, like they're characters in some '80's teenage drama. It's terribly obnoxious and takes away from the story.

What would have made Learn in Your Car: Spanish, the Complete Language Course better?

Yikes! What a waste of time and a book credit. For the first hour it's just a list of vocabulary words-- not even in context. A whole hour of a spoken word and then you repeat. I didn't learn poop! It was all gone the moment I moved onto the next word.

Has Learn in Your Car: Spanish, the Complete Language Course turned you off from other books in this genre?

Nope, but made me more selective.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not one.

Oh for goodness' sake just shoot me. Two dimensional characters, predictable story. And how many cigarettes get smoked in this melodramatic piece of drivel??? LOTS. They're clearly the author's favorite prop. Hair, lipstick, booze, cigarettes, Nick and Lilly. For goodness' sake.

Amazing! It's a gripping novel with interesting, multi-dimensional characters. The narrator is a phenomenon who gives utterly perfect body to every moment of this story. It was impossible to turn it off. A highly recommended listen.
