In 1982, Peter Robinson was hired as a speechwriter in the Reagan White House. One of a core group of writers who became informal experts on Reagan, Robinson absorbed not just the president's politics but his manner and way of carrying himself. And the example Reagan set, as a confident, principled, generous-spirited older man who inspired those around him, molded Robinson just as he was coming into his own.

After hearing and reading a number of biographical, as well as autobiographical books about Ronald Reagan... in my opinion, this book was in the very top 5 of the list.
The heart and soul of this book, as well as the craftsmanship of the writing, created an inspiring and touching portrayal of the blossoming of a life well lived. This influence of Ronald Reagan’s life to inspire and transform other lives, including the life of the author, continues to have a ripple effect on individuals as well as upon the world, like tossing a pebble into a pond.
As disturbing as current affairs are throughout the world, it would be difficult to calculate where we would be if Ronald Reagan had not lived.

As a 14-year-old intent on living a "modern" life, the last thing Isobel Kuhn (1901-1957) wanted to grow up to be was a missionary. But as it turned out, this young agnostic's life was redirected - from crisis and doubt to hope and strength. Convinced that God wanted her to preach the gospel as a China inland missionary, Isobel bravely served among the Lisu people in remote mountainous regions of China and Thailand. After 20 years of ministry Isobel returned to the United States, writing stirring stories of faith and inspiring generations of listeners.

I consider it a huge compliment to regard this book, “Isobel Kuhn: On The Roof Of The World,“ as a worthy
companion of Isobel Kuhn’s books.
As a devoted bookworm for many decades, it is notable to single out Isobel’s book, “In The Arena,“ which I read MANY years ago, as being so memorable that it remains one of my top favorite books throughout all these years. So, (in comparison), I didn’t have high expectations of this Audible book... but what a pleasant surprise!

Most of the Joyce Meyer books are usually awesome… However, her narrators usually have poor performance because of the narrator's voice.
Although Joyce Meyer, herself, definitely doesn't have a typically good "narrating" voice... her inner light and life, often referred to as "anointing," seem to shine through when she is teaching or ministering... regardless of her voice.

LESS analyzation and critiquing of movie/stage-play scripts, plots and methods of acting would produce a MORE intriguing biography. With the exception of that major flaw, this book is a well written, balanced and informed biography of Grace Kelly.

After reading and listening to a number of historical books about many different members of the royal family through the centuries, this is the first book that moved me to tears regarding the death of a royal. The narration was also beautifully done. This is a remarkable book about a very human and yet very lovely, charming and admirable woman who was a true queen in every positive sense of the word.

At the height of his fame Thomas Alva Edison was hailed as “the Napoleon of invention” and blazed in the public imagination as a virtual demigod. Newspapers proclaimed his genius in glowing personal profiles and quipped that “the doctor has been called” because the great man “has not invented anything since breakfast.” But Edison's greatest invention may have been his own celebrity.

The narrator's performance was passable, but personally, I didn't care for his voice.

The story wasn't what I expected. However, it all depends on whether you are interested in a personal biography of Edison, his family, etc… or whether you are looking for a fact sheet of all of his failed & his successful inventions.

This story tended towards an impersonal fact sheet of Edison's inventions, and was extremely boring and slow moving throughout the majority of the book. It failed to bring any sense of personal concern or connection with the main character.
