Did you know that most of our dinosaur fossils were discovered because two grown men absolutely hated each other? It’s true! Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World is a riotous audio exclusive, like if Monty Python taught your history class. Each volume of four 30-minute histories will dig into the petty name-calling and grumbling grudges that led to many of the world’s greatest advancements, all delivered with a cheeky sense of humor. Choose sides: Cope or Marsh, the jerks who discovered so many dinosaurs; Hamilton or Burr, whose rivalry fueled American politics; and many more....

This was a well written book, but not for me. I have never been overly fond of to much angst in a story. Or people being stupid then acting upset that there are consequence for their actions. Nor am I overly fond of the powers-that-be being portrayed as evil just because the protagonist gets into trouble for say braking the law. Not that I have any problem with the powers-that-be being the bad guy in a story since it is so often true that the powerful are corrupt. I just want there to be a better reason than they are in charge or the feels. This book might have gotten better, but the main character being a brainless and angry, yet gifted twit and not learning from any of her mistakes was to much for me so I had to stop.

This was supposed to just be a brain cleanser for the Author so he could get back to writing the Delvers LLC series, but it was not written as second thought. It's well written and the characters and world are well fleshed-out and detailed. I enjoyed it immensely and look forward to the next book in the series. .. The description of the book was quite accurate and I'm afraid if I go on about it in detail it would spoil your enjoyment.

Don't take this story seriously because it did not take it's self seriously. It was a fun piece of super hero fluff. Very enjoyable, but don't expect anything deep or metaphysical, just enjoy the story as the lighthearted romp that it is and you will enjoy yourself immensely.

Human laws do not apply in the territory controlled by the Others - vampires, shape-shifters, and paranormal beings even more deadly. And this is a fact that humans should never, ever forget.... After her divorce, Vicki DeVine took over a rustic resort near Lake Silence - in a human town that is not human controlled. Towns like Vicki's have no distance from the Others, the dominant predators that rule most of the land and all of the water throughout the world. And when a place has no boundaries, you never really know what's out there watching you.

This story leaves Meg and Simon behind and looks into the life of different Humans and Others. Can't say that it was as good as the original series, but I still like it and will listen to it again. The characters particularly the Others are not quite as well fleshed out, but then again this is only the first book so we have time to get to know them. The only "bad" thing I can say about the book is that the 1%'ers are REALLY, really, really stupid in this book. Yes if you have that much power and money the world is different for you than for everyone else, but.... well I guess if you have to have a bad group of people making only 1% of the population painfully dumb is not a bad choice.
