Truth: Penn Walker entered my life like a summer storm - dark, ominous, and filled with thunder. After witnessing my husband's murder, I didn't have much of a heart left to offer a man. But Penn took it all. Every jagged shard. Every broken bit. Even the dirty and twisted pieces that I wish never existed.

Aly Martinez and her duets... good Lord. I can’t get over them and this one slayed me even more.

The secrets and lies and truths and the most shocking of all reveals. I think I ran the gamut of emotions and I won’t be able to chill out for a while. My heart beats for this duet.

I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the narration. Although John Lane was fantastic, I did get pulled out of the book by a few of Cynthia Farrell’s voices. She made Drew sound like he wasn’t quite all there. Her male voices just need less of a pause to feel fluent.

But honestly... I would listen to this over and over regardless of narration.

From over a thousand miles away, I watched on the screen of my phone as two men murdered my wife. And I was helpless to save her. Consumed by hate and rage, I spent four years running from my memories - until a shattered woman gave me a reason to stop. Cora lived in a nightmare, but through sheer force of will, she’d turned it into something beautiful. She had a smile that could pierce the darkest soul. And with one glance, she shredded mine.

Javier Estrada is the king of Mexico. Evil. Twisted. Psychopathic. A cruel madman with a killer smile. And he is my boss. My duty is to blend in, clean his home, and not make a peep. I’ve done my job well for years. I've embedded myself so deep in his world, he’s never going to get me out. But I am this king’s worst nightmare. Bad men like him took everything away from me. I will never forget. He will pay for the sins of many. I’ll just bide my time - watching, waiting, calculating - until the time is right. When I strike, he won’t know what hit him.

The character development in this book is so completely ASTOUNDING that I feel these characters are legit new people in my life. There's Rosa, who has so much heart and strength and is lined with so many good intentions. Then there is the anti-hero that is downright ruthless and vicious but despite this you love him. You want him. You can't look away. Omg, you cannot look away.

The fire between the main characters burns so hot that you will feel it from your toes on up. It's a chemistry that is hard to be created but hot dayum, K Web did it and it's magnificent. I love a book that pushes me to the edge by keeping my mind buzzing and my heart humming. K Webster is a master and El Malo is the epitome. Couldn't put it down, I read verses over and over until they lost their effect because they felt so good. Very few books have given me that same feeling.

Other than the characters, the world that K Webster created was insane. Her descriptions of the streets of Acapulco made me feel dirty and the scents permeated my nose. I both loved and hated that I was able to envision this world so clearly.

I will never be able to get over the love story of Rosa and Javier. Every time I hear Camila Cabello sing Never Be The Same, I will always come right back to this book and want to listen to it over and over.

Seraphine Valentine and Gomez Pugh could not have been more perfect. Their narration took this book to an even better place than it was as an ebook. I am so thoroughly impressed!!

Coach Everett Long has a chip on his shoulder. Working every day with the man who stole his fiancée leaves him pissed and on edge. His temper is volatile and his attitude sucks. River Banks is a funky-styled runner with a bizarre past. Starting over at a new school was supposed to be easy…but she should have known better. She likes to antagonize and tends to go after what she’s not supposed to have. When the arrogant bully meets the strong-willed brat, it sparks an illicit attraction. Together, they heat up the track with longing and desire.

K Webster releases an audio and I’m all over it. The narrators were perfect. Coach Long with his manly alpha voice and River was spunky and completely age appropriate sounding.

River comes hurdling into Coach Long’s life like only a firecracker can. Full of attitude and sass that a coach can surely tame, right?

I tore through this book, stopping for nothing because the way this couple came together had me laughing to hysterics and feeling all the feels. Coach Long is an alpha through and through, making my heart pitter patter and River was so full of grit and spunk, she was a truly relatable character.

Although this is part of the Taboo Treat world, it can be listened as a stand alone. The characters do mix and mingle, they don’t need to be read in any certain order.

No money, no phone, and abandoned on the streets of Chicago. With my baby in my arms, I wander into a bar in a shady neighborhood and ask to use their phone. When my father turns us away and completely disowns me, the bar owner, and total hottie, offers us a place to stay...no strings attached. I’m leery at first. Hot alpha guy. Down-on-her-luck single mother. I mean, who wouldn’t be? Lucio Gallo isn’t like most men, though. He’s fiercely protective, loyal, and, did I mention he’s covered in nothing but muscle? Above all else, he’s everything I need but never knew I wanted.

Gimme a break... a hot dude that takes in a mom and baby and doesn’t have any issues with it as well as a hilarious Italian Family. There was nothing not to love about this book.

I like Lance Greenfield but he just didn’t have the compassionate voice that I would assume this character would have. Erin Mallon was fantastic, like she always is.

The NFL is full of rules. Rules I've never broken, never challenged, never even scratched...until the day Lucas Carrington crashes into my life with his hard body and I-don't-give-a-f--k attitude. After I almost injure my father's star player, I volunteer to make sure he's in top shape. At first, it's hell. I don't like his cockiness and his easy smile. I don't like the way he oozes sex or how his penetrating eyes follow me everywhere. But that doesn't stop me from wanting him. He's meant to be a distraction - something to occupy my mind for these precious few remaining hot summer nights.

The girl next door. Pretty. Sweet. Kind. Submissive. Until I met her, I was alone with the dark desires that I didn't understand, that I couldn't reconcile. She became my best friend, and then she became so much more. Desire. Disgust. Shame. Dominance. I wouldn’t have survived until college without her. When we were together, I was at peace for the first time in my life. But it was too good to last. Our appetite for pain and pleasure destroyed us. And all the drinks in the world weren’t enough to get used to missing her. On the verge of earning my degree, Ana walks back into my life, those gray-blue eyes still able to see right through me. It’s the chance I’ve been waiting for. One last chance to overcome my shame. If only it were that easy.

Such a fantastic coming of age story for a couple kids who are going through an alternative sexual discovery.

I loved the idea of story and the characters, the highs and lows were so emotional, on both fronts. I could feel the turmoil these kids were going through and had such empathy for them. Getting the happy ever after was so deserving.

My only objection was that I felt that the exact same issue was thrown at them over and over that it lost some of its efficacy for the reader.

But I know it’s a book I will still come back to over and over. It’s that good.

Even by Wind Dragon Motorcycle Club standards, Irish was always a bit of a dark horse. Not one to confide his secrets, such as where he got that mysterious scar across his neck, he’s quick with his fists and even quicker to jump to the defense of his MC. But is he nimble enough to handle the woman he never saw coming? Or will she leave him with a matching scar across his heart?

I have been binging on this series for the last 3 days and I was so looking forward to Irish’s story and this fell so flat. So very flat. And there was so much that it could have been, the storyline had good bones and could have been expanded but it was so truncated. What could have been an exciting addition was just rushed and had no ending.

Then there’s the narration. Irish was IRISH but the narrators gave him the smallest lilt that if you didn’t know he was Irish, you wouldn’t have picked up on it just by the narration. And I’m a fan of these narrators too! It just was not a good performance.

Oh well. Onto book 4.

I can’t save myself from the cloister, and maybe I never could. The prophet grows more dangerous by the day. His delusions are steeped in blood, and if I’m not careful, that blood will be my own. Despite the growing risk, I still continue the search for the truth, no matter if the thorny path eventually twists back to Adam, guilt in his dark eyes. I’ve seen glimpses of his soul, and I know there is more to him than the monster, but it’s so hard to reach him. I knew when I came here I’d have to fight, I just didn’t realize the war would be waged on so many fronts.

Adam and Delilah return right where we left off, which means no niceties or getting to know you’s. Just full swing, intense, edge of your seat, plug shoved in your butt, mystery & insanity.

And this was just the starting point. By the end, My heart was racing and my eyes were flying so fast that I had to keep stopping and going back to reread because I would miss entire lines just trying to read faster and faster. I had to get the information in my brain as quick as possible.

Then the cliffy hit and I turned the page and shouted “NO!” And flipped back and turned it again, shouting once again, “no!” Cursing The Father of Fire! Damn you! I knew it was coming but still. Noooooo!

Until The Church, Celia, where you will trick me no more!!

Muffy and Teddy were the BEST choice for this book, bringing these characters to life making the audio even better than when I read the book.
