Read the book and loved it so thought we would try this audio production but it's so overdone and so over-the-top it sounds like an episode of Scooby-Doo. For very young kids only.

I adore Mr. Welles and was so happy to find this series but the sound quality on this one is terrible. It needs to be digitally remastered or whatever else magic they can do to it to make is something you can actually listen to.

when I started listening to this audiobook I had no idea where it was but I trusted the charming Mr Reiner to weave a tale of humor and wit that would get me to the end with a smile on my face... And he certainly did! I love this man!

... the musical interludes, for which she gives a caveat at the end, are too loud, too obtrusive and totally drown out her voice so I'm not sure why they ever got past a final review?

But if you like Carly, and who doesn't, this is a very sympathetic look at her life, her family, her marriage to Mr. Taylor and her career. Nice to hear she did indeed find some peace of mind finally.

I met Carly once at a celebrity baseball game on the Boston Common and had a lovely conversation about Ben's first album which was still being recorded the time. She was as friendly and warm and funny as I could have ever hope for. And gorgeous. And that voice!

I grew up while all this stuff was going on and I loved all the music and I know a little bit about Bill Graham but this was really interesting to hear even if the narrator's a little too hip and groovy for his own good sometimes

I have lived in Boston since 1970 and been involved with various bands and entertainment venues and I never heard anyone ever mention the amazing overlapping stories in this book. A compelling and eye-opening chapter in Boston's history that I knew nothing about. Wow!

Great, fun story and writing and Kevin's performance is wonderful, but Katherine does the worst shrill, shrieking, fake British accent since Dick Van Dyke in "Mary Poppins". She ruins the whole production. I lasted 3 chapters and gave up.

In the movie "When Harry Met Sally," Estelle Reiner (Carl's wife and Rob's mother) memorably quipped 'I'll have what she's having!' After listening to this audio book I would like to say that I'll have what he's having! At 90 Mr. Reiner is as funny, charming, and silly as he ever was. I hope, should I be lucky enough to live to 90, that I am as enthusiastic and excited about my creative projects as Mr. Reiner obviously is. Thanks Mr. Reiner for the all the laughs.
