The story started out promising but then lost me. I didn't have a reason to care about the characters or the mission.

Zusak's choice of narrator provides listeners with a great objective view of humanity. The characters, minor and major, are all so realistic. This book is able to do what only great literature can do, hold a mirror up to humanity and make us wonder the meaning of human nature.

I love the characters! Lillie's strongest attribute is her ability to develop characters. The story was great but leaves one wondering, will there be a book 2?

King's best work. I've tried reading King before but can't bring myself to like his work. This, however, is by far well worth the listen. The characters are dynamic and the suspense is perfect.

I love the thrilling twists and turns. All the spooky moments left me wondering, what is more terrifying, people or ghosts? Great listen and Cassandra Campbell is one of my favorite narrators.

I LOVED the descriptive details Mountford used especially in describing the entities. The story was good and Han Hills did a great job narrating. If you don't mind the predictable ending (unfortunately the horror genre can only have so many endings) you'll enjoy this book.

A great listen for those who are fans of Greek-- no-- mythology in general. I thought I knew the Odyssey until I listened to this audio book. Circe was an interesting character in the Odyssey but wow, this book brings her to life. This is a great listen if you ever wondered how this witch came to cross paths with Odysseus.

The concept and the story began with such promise. Mysterious creature(s) in a mysterious town, how cool! Two brothers questioning their bond and loyalty to one another. It sizzled out and became an undeveloped project. This book had flat characters when it could have been so good. I was left disappointed.
