The premise of the book seemed appealing and exciting. The beginning of the book peaked my interest and lulled me into believing the story was going to start off slow then engage the reader with the characters & story line to the point where I would not be able to put it down! Instead the story line is ridiculous and goes no where after four hours of reading. The hero seems to be a big brooding menacing ox with no character development. The heroine came across as stupid but was supposed to be highly intelligent! After five hours into the story I still didn't understand any of the motives or why the experiment took place. The description of the supernatural sex between the main characters was unbelievable and comical (think of the movie Modern Problems and the sex scene between Chevy Chase and Patty DeArbanville). The story comes across as one long drawn out high school sweetheart type romance which totally surprised me and not even remotely what I was looking for after reading the review and a little bit of the background. Typically when I start reading the first book in a good series, I slowly become vested in the characters and the storyline. I begin to visualize the facial features of the characters and scenery as I read each story in my mind. I become a voyeur of their story as they interact with one another. I can see the places they visit & experience the situations they go through and I cannot wait to get to the next book! I could not get into either of the characters in this book or the story. After 5 long hours I can't begin to imagine what the characters look like nor did i care. I developed no interest in the story and several times i found myself daydreaming about events on my to do list while I was listening to this book. I am sure the author is a great writer and has die-hard fans of the series, I am just not one of them, maybe you will be, good luck.

First I must say that I absolutely love James Marsters. I have loved him ever since he starred on Buffy as spike. I love the rich creaminess of his voice as Harry. He also does a great job voicing the female and other male characters. However, in some parts of the book it almost sounds as if he is finishing a bite of food and swallowing while he is reading. If this happened one or two times it would not be an issue but it occurs often throughout the book and was more noticeable in the first book.
Fortunately, the story and his voice are so enjoyable that the eating/swallowing sound are only minimally annoying. I am thoroughly enjoying this series and highly recommend it to readers who are fans of shows like supernatural, Buffy, teen wolf etc., and movies like Harry Potter, twilight, Lord of the rings, etc.

Great story, extremely well written. The authors descriptions of the beautiful locations, art and various events, leaves the reader longing to experience each and every locale.

The book is rich in characters and imagery but the most intriguing part of the book is the subject matter. I don't want to give anything away but for me the book completely captures the essence of human behavior and our inherent ability to deny that our actions will ultimately lead to our own destruction. An exciting and scary read!

If you haven't seen the movie and plan to, read the book first. Many key points were changed for the movie including the ending. The movie is okay but the book is much better!

If you are a fan of H. Coban's Myron Bolitar series then you will LOVE this book! As
soon as I realized Win was narrating the first few paragraphs my heart leapt with joy!! I AM IN LOVE WITH WIN! I was so happy Mr. Coban told several parts of the story from Win's POV. Win's ability to be absolutely emotionless and extremely lethal yet fiercely loyal and loving is absolutely beautiful!! As usual the story takes you on a non-stop journey into betrayal, love, and the lengths one will go to protect one's family. I love the story and narrator. I felt each character had a distinct voice. Some of Mr. Weber's female characters were a little hard to take but overall he did a superb job.

This is a excellent book even if you have never read a Myron B. Book.

It's the most dangerous case of Will Trent's career. He knows this from the moment he sets foot in the abandoned Atlanta warehouse where a body lies on the floor - the body of an ex-cop. Bloody footprints leading away from the scene reveal that another victim, evidently a woman, was carried away and has vanished into thin air. And, worst of all, the warehouse belongs to the city's biggest and most high-profile athlete - a local hero protected by the world's most expensive lawyers.

Sarah could stand to man-up a little but I love how smart she is. Of course Amanda is Amanda and I love it. This book provides a little more insight into the main characters backstory and "Angela's" story is a doozy!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have four kids and after reading this book I am so happy they are grown. Otherwise I would spy on them and check everything they do. This books really makes parents look twice at their children and question everything they say. The endings were neatly tied and had some nice surprises. Not all kids are unaware of grown-folks-business.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, very engaging and keeps you guessing. I fell in love Mr. Bae

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, excellent

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The twist

Any additional comments?

I am a huge fan of Harlan Coben. I love the Myron B series (mainly Win, such a good/bad boy) but I could not put down this book. Mr. Coben certainly knows how to keep his readers attention and he always seems to tie the stories together nicely. Some minor issues but not significant enough to mention.

I loved JC's book back when she wrote Hollywood Husbands. She started the whole trend of voyeurism for Hollywood celebrities. Now with every TV show giving viewers a dose of "reality" JC's books have lost their appeal and the story lines are no longer shocking or leave you in a state of disbelief. Honestly, they are tame compared to reality shows like ROWOT-fill-in-the-blank; hip-hop-nobodies; bad-girls-but actually immature; divas-but not really, etc.
