It started as a student exercise, the knife under the drape, the model's pose chalked in place. But before Agatha Troy, artist and instructor, returns to the class, the pose has been re-enacted in earnest: the model is dead, fixed for ever in one of the most dramatic poses Troy has ever seen. It's a difficult case for Chief Detective Inspector Alleyn. How can he believe that the woman he loves is a murderess? And yet no one can be above suspicion.

I bought this book in hopes of hearing a good sweet story. Instead, the story broke my heart, made me angry and moved me beyond belief. This story told by one of my favorite actors was gripping. I couldn't stop listening, yet the story saddened me. I am so happy this story was and continues to be told. I feel it was very brave and empowering for Mr. Cumming, to put it out there. Thank you for telling your story in an emotional and open way. It is a fascinating tale. I'm so sad your childhood was so hard. Mine was the opposite of yours and I'm so grateful for that. FYI: Your Story Is Good Enough!

No death could have been more welcome than Evan Morgan's, or more fitting for the Welcome Home celebrations in the village of Llanddewi. For Morgan had spent the war making money and enemies down in the Vale of Glamorgan with about equal facility. In fact, on the night, it seemed as if a whole posse of murderers had beaten a path to the door of the Manor House.
