The scum hiding deep inside the Reach out along galaxy's edge thought they could kill her and not pay the price. For years these hardened killers have run roughshod over the lawless worlds where Republic justice is never as fast as the blaster in your hand and where double-crosses and death are a part of every deal. They thought this time would be no different. They were wrong. This time, the Guild sent the legendary bounty hunter Tyrus Rechs. As the infamous Rechs pursues the men who murdered his colleague, he's hell-bent on justice.

Tyrus Rechs. The man is an enigma and Requiem delivers more pieces of the puzzle. It's all coming together now. I never thought that a bounty hunters' love story can be so hauntingly and as another reviewer said - achingly - beautiful.

There is plenty of fighting here, but I love it how the blaster fire is blended with melancholy of loss. I read the description of the book and it was like "ok cool!" I listened to the book and it's like "oh wow, stick that dagger in my heart again, that was beautiful..." I did not expect this. By now I know the guys are amazing at combat narrative so I'm quite stunned at the skillful delivery of this emotional tragedy. The very final dialog got my face drenched in tears.

This is one of the best books by this author team and the narrator brought it home.

They promised him one weekend a month. The House or Reason swore the 9th would never leave their gentle homeworld. But after Kublar, things changed for Sergeant Fetch and the Caledonian Reserve Legion Corps. Thrown into a meat grinder conflict in a desperate bid to hold the line, it doesn’t matter whether you’re reserve or active, only that you kill and survive.

The reserve are not the leejes. That's true, and their skill might not be up to par but by god this reservist had heart and will that a leej could relate to. Desperate, scared, outnumbered and losing his guys he still stood, he led, he fought. Great narration from CR as usual. His intense delivery makes me sit on the edge of the seat.

One of my favorite things about the GE universe and the guys that create it for us is the heart wrenching realism in storylines, narration and thought process. There is no "good guy wins and everybody goes home happy" bs and when the good guy wins the price is the burden he must carry for the rest of his life.

I definitely recommend this book! I think this whole series is a great idea for a birthday gift!

The Nether Ops... man... who ARE these people? I felt like I needed to watch my back while listening! Jeez...

Having read all other books in GE universe, I'm endlessly fascinated by the details and back stories of some of the characters and organizations. This installment is an illuminating addition to the series. I'm now tempted to go back and listen again to the beginnings as there were a couple of characters brought up that I always wondered about, as to what was their fate. I guess now we know. Can't wait for next season!!!

Narrator - I must admit that he is one of my favorites and he was perfect for this book. I have other favorite narrators that wouldn't be the right choice. The voice, the style, the timing are all essential to an audible book. He nailed it.

Stryker Company always brings the fight, but when they relieve embittered and embattled Republic marines, they find an enemy unwilling to stand up and face them. Tasked with protecting the Republic's interests on a mining world, the legionnaires face roadside ambushes, double-dealing locals, and constant sabotage. And the mission isn’t as straightforward as they thought it would be. As skirmishes escalate into coordinated ambushes, two squad leaders, Talon and Lankin, are forced to chase after the sparks threatening to ignite the entire populace into a full-blown insurgency.

OMG am I glad I read other reviews or what... I was curious that the same author and the same narrator as Omega Force creator team would produce another book together. In itself there is nothing unusual of course about winning teams coming back together for more awesomeness. But nothing rang the bell for Omega Force. So I didn't get the book until months later when I read the reviews!!! I was so happy and annoyed at the same time lol I desperately waited for another OF book and here it was (in a way) and I missed it!!! Of course I got it. Of course I listened to it all in 2 days. SO mean of the author to NOT let us know in plain words lol arghhhh...I only wish I got it sooner. I love this branching out from the main story line. The universe this team built is so fascinating and so fun. There is one spot early on in the book where the narrator says Jason instead of Jacob. That made me smile. I love both of those characters! I miss Jason and the crew tho... can't wait for another one of their books.

While this book is part of the Galaxy’s Edge universe it is a strong standalone book. You don't need to know of other books from GE universe to appreciate this one. That said - you want to get them. I've read many others. I've read all in this series. What a book, what a story... must read. Written in the Galaxy’s Edge universe, it gives a backstory of one of it’s key characters that doesn’t reveal himself as such until the very end. Helps you understand his actions in the other books.

The book has just enough 'laugh out loud', 'he did what?' 'pew pew pew' and 'OMG' to get sucked in quickly and keep going fast down the rabbit hole all the while just knowing 'shit'sbout to get real'. Left me feeling heavy and contemplating character, friendship, leadership and war for days... strangely therapeutic.
