That's what agent Kurt Hunter thought until, while out fishing, he witnesses a murder at the Turkey Point nuclear power plant. After being assigned the case, Kurt is pulled into the convoluted politics of Miami only to find out that the embattled power plant is only a pawn in a more deadly game. Greed and corruption are nothing new to pristine Biscayne Bay. With the plant's miles of cooling canals providing essential habitat for several endangered species, Kurt is thrown into a rift between warring environmentalists and power-hungry corporate executives all with their own agendas.

Nate knelt beside the dead girl. This wasn't his first homicide, it wasn't even the first dead prostitute he'd investigated. It wasn't the first strangling death he'd been assigned to. But this one bothered him. Maybe it was her youth; she appeared to be in her early twenties. Maybe it was her looks, as death had yet to rob her of her beauty. Maybe she reminded him of his own daughter, Lizzie, who was only a few years younger. Maybe it was something else entirely.

The story begins with a prostitute being strangled. Seasoned investigator, Nate Burns, is the Officer in Charge with his new partner Manny Trujillo. There is little evidence and slim chance of the crime being solved, but Nate promises the dead girl to find her killer.

Some of the things Nate did confused me but overall this is a good story that moves along.

As with many other books read by Paul McSorley, I enjoyed listening to this.

Loved the characters, Madison and Ryker are made for each other, Tyler is hysterical as her best friend and the boys, Aiden and Caleb, are adorable. This is a sweet romance. I can do without the hot, steamy sex scenes but it is a romance novel after all.

The readers did a great job with all the characters, at first I had to adjust to Wen Ross switching to 7 yr old Aiden's voice but as I listened I could picture young Aiden.

I was gifted this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
