"In here," he said, pushing on the skin above my heart, "you're 10 below zero. And you're closer to death than I am." My name is Parker. My body is marked with scars from an attack I don't remember. I don't want to remember. I choose to live my life by observation, not through experience. While people are laughing and kissing and connecting, I'm in the corner. Watching them live. I'm indifferent to everything, everyone. The only emotion I feel with any kind of depth is annoyance, and I feel it often.

All in all, this is one book I’ll enjoy many times more. I did pause it. Glad weekend came and then the work days were overwhelming. Hard containing the tears at work. The FEELS!! Trying not to have a red nose towards the end was difficult.

Parker and Everett are opposites. Both damaged; both with painful pasts. Parker avoids socializing; Everett is a self proclaimed alcoholic. But both have some chemistry even if they don’t like each other. Honestly, I didn’t like Parker at first; but understood her pain. Soon after I seriously wanted to give her a hug. The reference to the movie “Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind” made me understand Everett’s actions.

Narration by Natasha Soudek was perfect. It may seem slow; but it follows the story and emotions to perfection. You end up forgetting everyone around you. Until of course, you stop to hide those tears.

I’m no longer confused. That it! It’s like every movie, sci-fi tv series and book genres all mixed in. Great orthography gets any rating. I get young adult books; as my boys and I share titles to read. It was suggested to me; as they know I love PRN’s. They kept complaining about all the things that didn’t make sense. My oldest made it to 15%. I got to a point where the only thing left was her being miraculously impregnated and become a goddess and savior of dragons. Oh yeah, that’s what she’ll be in future of a world; as she is the reason for some apocalyptic times. I swear, if the twins turned out to be her father I would no longer have a phone. Not waiting to find out. It’s a lot of movies put together. Therefore, things don’t make sense. I painfully made it to 47%. As the saying goes, That was the icing on the cake! I prefer an entertaining, original book with typographical errors; than a nice number of pages, good orthography, but thrown together not making any sense. Simply, to make money. I can’t even believe I wasted money on the Audible. That could have gone to other books my kids actually finished and want me to collect. How is it that has 4 and 5 stars, must be the spell checking. Definitely not for boys or young adults. It’s more for girls under the age of 10 or 12. -At least that’s what my 13 and 16 year old sons agreed on. By the way, I got better imagination than my kids!

What made the book okay: the narration and good spelling. The narration is what made me make it not give up. Thank you 🙏

When I first subscribed to Audible, I happened to come across “The Immortal Guardians”. I may have not started the series in order; but I immediately became a fan of Dianne Duvall. Listening to the opening in this novel, I realized this is where it all started. As a medieval PRN, with characters and world descriptions without being boring, it was like time traveling. I loved Seth and Roland’s appearances in the novel. The heroine is an intriguing woman whose gift is healing; taking the pain and injuries onto herself. She is selfless, and her love for the fierce hero is so great; being near him is best reward. It’s a story of respect, love and trust. One where honesty is most valued, and where misunderstandings are talked out.

For future me: shower, eat and sleep if going to read/ listen again. Make sure it’s not a work day.

Amazing narration indeed.

I want the whole series. The moment I started reading, I remembered everything about the Ghost Walkers from the first book. That was surprising since I read it early 2016. I remembered Nico for his intriguing personality. When names were mentioned, I remembered the characters. That’s huge for me since I’m not good at remembering names. Or much.

Love the action!! Definitely better than the first one!! I loved Nicolas and Dahlia. Because of their psychic connection, some moments were hilarious. Especially when she shows her breast and jumps in the water! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I want to read Shadow Games again. I know for sure I will enjoy Mind Games more than once. Loved the romance, the suspense of trying to figure out who the traitor was.

I wished I had continued to read this series. I didn’t bother as read negative reviews of too much sex, poor narration. Not so. Too much action or suspense, not such thing. This book was perfect -for me.

The voice narrator expresses each character, emotion, accent, pause, word and thought so... perfect! An amazing voice actor!! I couldn’t take a break from listening. Starting to read last night made it difficult doing things when body exhausted. Going through work day without sleep was worse. Needless to say, I have saved Mr. Stechschulte’s name on my list of narrators. It’s a small list. The way this man expressed the Cajun, French accent had me melting. This man does such a wonderful job at portraying the characters and situations, I found myself in tears twice. Might have been the lack of sleep. To those who complained, health and cook books might be more suitable for them. I hope he’s the voice actor for the next books. I will be switching this month’s book list for him alone!! ❤️ I want the next one already! Can’t wait to find out about Gator! 💕

You get to understand his need for revenge. The feelings grow slowly; yet felt too fast. That was my only disappointment. Nevertheless, the story was still good. The ending was a shocker for me. I was smiling from ear to ear and then go “no”! Yep, happy ending but I seriously need next chapter in Peter and Sara’s story 💕

This time, I thought the Hate/ Love vibes were too much. I really didn’t care for the angry sexual situations. Did love Lake’s revenge. I was into the book so much, yes, I literally fell off the couch from laughing. Or maybe it was due to after work exhaustion. Loved it! 😂 As for the story, Keiran's past is revealed. And it’s surprising all the way to the end. connections. Keiran’s feelings slowly shows his vulnerable human side.

It took me longer than expected. As wonderful and perfect narration was; I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. Keiran and Lake’s relationship is WAY dysfunctional. He enjoys making her cry; and Lake seems to enjoy the abuse. On and off relationship with 0 respect. After a while their relationship became tedious.

My rating is based on the narrators. They portrayed every emotion, every sigh to beyond perfection. Great voice actors. The story for me was a 3. It was intriguing and funny at times. I simply cannot understand how many times you can throw someone away, and expect them to fall back into your arms.
