I work at KW and love this book...the material in the book, NOT the narrators! I have about 250 audio titles and some do have some crappy narration but this is BY FAR the WORST!!! For the love of god and all that’s holy, I hope somebody involved in production of the next book has read this and will do something about it! I actually really liked the intro by Gary...honestly he should narrate the new book!! ...or RC Bray (he is fantastic) This is the only book I have not been able to get through and had to buy a hard copy.

After spending hundreds of painful miles dreaming of his reunion with his family, Gary arrives home only to find his family under attack. Now he must face the painful decision as to whether his family's plan to bug-in is viable or whether they may need greater numbers and a better location to survive in this collapsing nation.

I am enjoying this series. It’s a bit more realistic than the A American books (though I like them too). Book 3 is really good, it starts to go beyond the basic character builds and the “getting home” portions, focusing on the difficulty of every day. This book gets a bit darker than the other two and I love it! The rough stuff the characters have to go through are really providing some solid depth. Good book!!

I have over 200 titles in my library and have listened to many of my books 3, 4 or in some cases 9 or 10 times and most all of my titles are some type of survival (either Space Opera or Post Apocalyptic) and this fits neatly in my post apocalyptic column but then added in a really wonderful element that all the others didn’t have, or maybe an element that was missing; the dystopian piece of gangs running around and the survivors having to fight their fellow man (and woman) along with the weather and or zombies or whatever. It was a breath of fresh air for the genre. I really enjoyed the book! Thanks! ...and of course Scott Brick is amazing (I’ve listened to The Passage series 3 times and he is such a great narrator)
Lastly, I super love long books. I commute 2-4 hours a day depending on traffic and I really feel like I get my credits worth with a book that’s over 15 hrs...I don’t even buy a book that’s under 8 hrs

It's not easy, being king. You can't always rule a kingdom and still do what needs to be done. Eric - or King Halar, also known as the Demon King - has more than enough problems without the crown. But quitting the job of king isn't easy, either - unless you want to be beheaded. Most people regard that as an unsatisfactory way to quit. Even vampire lords tend to be cautious about guillotines. A king who loses his head has a real problem...or none at all.

For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.
