I received this as an audible gift. I liked the story. But I really wasn't a fan of the narration. At times I felt like I was listening to a high schooler read. But the story was fine. It would have been nice to have the characters have more depth. But I liked Josh's character.

The handsome, rakish heir to a dukedom, Lord Roland Northbridge Wilde - known to his friends as North - left England two years ago, after being jilted by Miss Diana Belgrave. He returns from war to find that he’s notorious: polite society has ruled him “too wild to wed”. Diana never meant to tarnish North’s reputation or his heart, but in her rush to save a helpless child, there was no time to consider the consequences of working as a governess in Lindow Castle. Now everyone has drawn the worst conclusions about the child’s father, and Diana is left with bittersweet regret.

I truly enjoyed this tale of love between Angelina and Flynn. This book covers some unusual topics such as slavery and illigetimacy. Cameron's tale is never predictable. I loved the humor in Angelina's character - caught up a tree? The twists and turns of the plot kept me interested and reading. David Monteath does an excellent job in this narration.

This is a wonderful story and Stevie Zimmerman is a fascinating narrator. Lady Shona Atterbury is by far one of my favorite heroines in the Wallflower Series. Scottish by birth, Shona is not your typical beauty. She is slightly overweight and unpretentious. When she is rescued by Captain Morgan Le Draco at a house party, she finds the man she has hoped for. Draco has been seriously injured in an explosion and has scars and a missing eye. Can two damaged souls find love? This is a lovely story and I was enchanted by Ms Zimmerman's narration. Highly recommend.

I received a free audio copy of this book. The narrator Tim Campbell is absolutely fantastic. I truly enjoyed this book. I was gifted a copy of it. Lady Anne Adair has been duped by a rogue in her recent past. She is skeptical when the dashing Duke of Kilmartin, Simon Sedgewick begins to try to woo her. Because of a lame leg, Anne has always been a wallflower. Will Simon’s persistence win the day? Will Lady Anne let go of her bitterness and be free to see the truth about Kilmartin? This story is quite an emotional ride.
“He was perfection. It wasn’t simply that his face looked as if it had been chiseled from marble. There was an inherent strength there, as well as the set of his chin that suggested he had a stubborn streak. He wore his thick, wavy russet hair a little longer than proper, suggesting he didn’t give a fig about rules. His bronzed skin hinted that he enjoyed the outdoors, and as she swept her gaze quickly over his massive shoulders, down his torso, to his thighs, which appeared powerful even clad as they were in black trousers, she was certain he was very fit. Moving her gaze back up to his face, she startled to find him gazing intently at her, lips curled in an amused smile. Goodness!”
Johnstone uses her pen to expose the destruction that gossip and bitterness can bring to many. Anne’s transformation is a pleasant one and fun to watch. I highly recommend My Daring Duchess.

I was gifted a copy of this Audible book. Rowan's Lady is a beautiful, heart pounding story about sacrificial love. Rowan Graham is a widower with a small child. When his daughter is kidnapped, he finds his heart opening to her rescuer Lady Arline. Lady Arline has endured loveless marriages and doesn't think anyone would ever love her unconditionally.
This is a true adventure story.Brad Wills does a very good job narrating. I laughed out loud at his rendition of Rowan's precocious 4 year old daughter. He adds such emotion and feeling to the book. I highly recommend this to any lover of historical romance.

That is, until the night she infiltrates the ton's most scandalous masquerade ball on behalf of her sister, and finds herself in the arms of the one man she'd sworn to hate. Irresistibly arrogant and unapologetically sensuous, infamous rake Lord Wainwright always gets his way. When he accepts a wager to turn his rakish image respectable in just 40 days, he never anticipates falling for an anonymous masked lover.

If you could sum up Lord of Pleasure in three words, what would they be?

A fantastic ride

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lord of Pleasure?

I absolutely loved Lord of Pleasure. The scenes at the Masquerade Ball were wonderfully romantic. Lord Wainwright, a know rake, lives to be himself at the Ball. Hidden behind a mask, he feels he can finally be himself. Amelia, a bluestocking spinster, attends the ball as a last hoorah and falls madly in love with the masked man. But without the mask, she can't stand Lord Wainwright. He is arrogant and careless with his words. Will they be together somehow?

What does Marian Hussey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Marian Hussey does a phenomenal job reading this book. She brings a great depth of emotion and humor.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I had a difficult time walking away from the book back to real life.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this audible book. Erica Ridley hits it out of the ball park.
