I loved the earlier episodes, with Cassie, thatcher, Georgia, Klein. So naturally assumed the romp world continue. I despised this book, there was more angst and inner monologue than lives inside most hormonal teens. I got the point where I just wanted it over, then there was 2 hours left. Listen to anything else, not this

So this is a first for me: fast forwarding just to end it. I have loved each of the dozen-ish books from Tara Sivec.

Declan - There's alphas, and I guess there is cromagnans who need ADD meds. He was 32? Character made more sense if you imagined a 14yo boy, he was so impulsive. McKenzie? I liked her less and less as the book progressed, she's beyond weak...and needs to be evaluated for dementia.

The performance was what finally clicked the fast forward button. The male narrator in an attempt to sound sexy all.the.time, just sounded irritable with a side of constipation. I started dreading hearing his POV. And the female one couldn't lay off the angst...there was little variation.

Sample the performance first

Fling is a stand-alone novella. I have a crush on my boss' best friend. At least it's not my brother's best friend. Or my best friend's brother. Or...never mind. It's all pretty cliché. And worse? My boss' best friend is his business partner. Which sort of makes him my boss, too. Okay - it's not sort of. It's definite. Gabe Laurent is off-limits. Totally off-limits. Which is fine. I make do with my imagination. He'll never know. Ever. Unless my work bestie passes me an '80s-style teen movie sex quiz during a meeting, and I fill it out. And it ends up in Gabe's hands....

Like cotton candy for the brain in a good way. Kinda like reading a people magazine -vaguely smiling but you don't know why, it's nice. Only complaint was male narrator's Aussie accent (not a problem at all, could've had him read me bedtime stories forever). But he read for a guy from ohio and just didn't fit

My name is Slade Merrick and I'm a f--king sex addict... I've been told it's a problem. But I see it as a passion; something that I'm good at. And who the f--k stops something that they're good at? They want me to seek help; get my cock in check. Don't judge my lifestyle. You're no better than me. Just admit it, you like to f--k too. Sex is what I do best; my own personal high, so I embrace it instead of being ashamed. When I'm not f--king, I'm slinging drinks at Walk Of Shame or stripping my way into your bed.

'Reading' this was like watching a train wreck, I just couldn't look away. At one point in story 2, I found myself yelling at the two main characters, my son came to check on me. All the character had to do was apologize and own his actions! Being allergic to the word "sorry" doesn't make you a man, just a di#k! The characters are so flat, undeveloped, have limited Cro-magnon vocabularies. I love cussing and this book actually makes me never want to use f*ck ever again. I can't believe how bad this is. And the names! Slade, Stone, Onyx -its like a bad porno from the 90s.

The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn't exactly make a good impression. I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date. He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice. So I told him to mind his own damn business and went back to my miserable date. I couldn't help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.

The actual story was ok, not amazing, just ok. The female narrator made me dislike the main character, usually I love VIs heroines. The male narrator talked as if was manning a 1-900 sex line -too fake.
