The Accidental Time Machine
- By: Joe Haldeman
- Narrated by: Kevin Free
- Length: 7 hrs and 58 mins
Joe Haldeman is the esteemed Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author of The Forever War. Things are going nowhere for lowly MIT research assistant Matt Fuller - especially not after his girlfriend drops him for another man. But then while working late one night, he inadvertently stumbles upon what may be the greatest scientific breakthrough ever. His luck, however, runs out when he finds himself wanted for murder - in the future.
Cool idea. Tediously told.

Well Written and Well Read
Don't let the cover picture and title keep you away. A great science fiction selection, hard science with a human side, humorous and compassionate as well.

- Old Man's War, Book 4
- By: John Scalzi
- Narrated by: Tavia Gilbert
- Length: 10 hrs
"I'm Zoe Boutin Perry: A colonist stranded on a deadly pioneer world. Holy icon to a race of aliens. A player in a interstellar chess match to save humanity. Seventeen years old. Everyone on Earth knows the tale I am part of. But you don't know my tale: I'm going to tell it to you now, the only way I know how: not straight but true, the whole thing, to try make you feel what I felt: the joy and terror and uncertainty, panic and wonder, despair and hope."
Bait and switch. Skip it unless you're a teenager.

Compelling and Humerous
This follows the characters from Old Man's War and The Ghost Brigades. If you enjoyed them, you will enjoy this. Good story for teenagers, as well as adults, as it told from the point of view of a teenage girl.
