A real family adventure, but it is really all about the kids, Ted and Emma, who live in Manhattan and Pete and Annie, twins who visit from Oklahoma. The kids are having great fun. The true stories of genuine sultans and princes are a bit more complicated and no less exciting. Incredible facts about this empire still surprise anyone who starts discovering those stories. You’ll find out that, for quite a while, this Islamic state was effectively ruled by women, and that’s just the beginning.

I've read tons of diet books, but this one stands out because it makes weight loss a lifelong goal that is achievable and it tackles the reasons behind why we eat poorly instead of just having us change.

Bought this for a trip to Scotland I was taking. Even though I'm a history major I only knew the bare essentials of it's history. This book was excellent! Although it started just a tad slow, he really managed to present A LOT of years of history, kings, clans, culture, and wars into a pretty brief and very readable text. Believe me, I have read a TON of really dry, long history books, this one was definitely interesting enough to keep even a "non-history" person interested. Plus, it was a great aid for the trip as I knew a lot of the background to explain to my friend.
