This book has been one of the best books that I have listened to in a long time. The story line has you coming back for more. The characters are fabulous. The reader is phenomenal. Robert Stanek did one heck of job writing this book. So much information is told, you might have to listen to it again - twice is nice. He has you wondering if what he is saying is true - look up wireless PDAs, Bluetooth and you will understand what I am talking about. Enjoy!

To turn back the tides of war, Queen Mother sent her most trusted warriors on a perilous journey across the Great Sea. But the elves were betrayed by one of their own. Only a handful survived the ambush that followed, only two reached the far shores. But they did not find quick allies. They found a kingdom under siege and a shattered alliance. The elves proved themselves to the men that defended Quashan'.

I've grown so involved with the lives of these characters that I would be on the edge of my seat listening and waiting for what comes next. I got in so much trouble because I couldn't stop listening and was supposed to be doing other things. I found myself hurrying to breaks to plug in my earphones and listen.

To say this book was a great follow-up to the first three doesn't do the book justice. The writing continues to be excellent as the first one. I liked the author's exploration of the kingdoms. Not only are the characters great, they are very well-developed and you feel their pain and angst.

Few books capture your heart and mind so completely. A truly remarkable series that I definitely recommend.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

I didn't mind the book is slow to pull you in. I didn't mind it's not so much an uplifting story as a history lesson. What I minded is how the writing is so emotionally exhausting. It reads like a slow train wreck and 11 hours felt more like 50.

I have read both The Kingoms and the Elves of The Reaches I and II in a week and can't wait for the others to come out on audio so I can listen to them. The characters are great, very interesting. Now that I finished this book, I have to get the next one in the series. It's that good.

Great for all ages! I am going to send copies to my 17 and 15 year old nephews. The narration is very well done.
