I'm a man without a conscience. I deal in murder and mayhem. I'm the best at what I do. Frankie Helburn is supposed to be an easy job. A means to flush her father out of hiding. Simple. Except there isn't anything simple about Frankie or the secrets she's keeping. She's stubborn as hell and the sexiest god damn thing I have ever seen, sending dark, dirty animalistic desire coursing through my veins. She's cocaine with legs. A f--king addiction that makes me question things I've never questioned before.

I read Smoke story first and loved it so much. I decided to get the audible. I was pretty disappointed with narrators. the females voice was annoying but I had to get past that. overall it was good but narrators make a big difference when they are good.

Samuel Clearwater, aka Preppy, likes bowties, pancakes, suspenders, good friends, good times, good drugs, and a good f--k. He's worked his way out from beneath a hellish childhood and is living the life he's always imagined for himself. When he meets a girl, a junkie on the verge of ending it all, he's torn between his feelings for her and the crippling fear that she could be the one to end the life he loves.

My whole life has been about waiting. Playing it safe. Be the good girl, don't color outside the lines. Put in the hard work trying to prove myself to Dad, then to my college professors, then to my boss at New World Media. Just waiting for the day when it will all pay off. And right when it was all starting to - I finally had the house, the job, I was even thinking about getting a cat-boom! - my life explodes and suddenly now I'm here and - "All done," the doctor interrupts my thoughts, pulling off her gloves with a loud snap.

I like beauty and the beast type storylines but this was not what I expected. You are paying someone to have your baby but you treat them like a slave. I’m glad I listened to whole thing cause I felt it got much better further in, like after she got pregnant.

I’m sorry but I love the Maiden Series but this one was just boring to me. I know it was dark because of child abuse and I still looked for the good in the rest of the story. but the H and h were the two most uninteresting people. I just hope this is not a start of this series going downhill.

This is one of my favorite Highlander romances and I loved listening to it on audio. Anne Flosnik is great with the different voices(male, female young or old). She really brings out all of them and I feel makes it great. You have a big brogue highlander and a older sister helping his sister in London for a season. It was fun to see how they both came together and it makes you want to listen over and over.
