So far the craziest episode I've listened to. This one has some surprises and also was very enlightening on details that I've been very curious about. This gave some pretty solid backstory too.

Definitely some unexpected plot twists here. This was a pretty solid way to finish out the first episode. I'm glad I bought them in pieces with how much cheaper it was. the split up parts did not ruin my experience. If anything it seemed like a longer story.

So I really thought we were going to get some real answers to what has been happening this whole time in the bigger picture. It is still the same recipe of "problem, crazy idea, success." I enjoyed the part with Colonel Perkins but i still feel there are so many questions to be answered. And to be honest I'm kinda of tired of so many books while making so little progress on what they "think" is happening in the bigger picture of the galaxy. I'm still going to keep listening because it is interesting but it feels as though story development on what is really important has been way too slow.

United Nations Special Operations Command sent an elite expeditionary force of soldiers and pilots out on a simple recon mission, and somehow along the way they sparked an alien civil war. Now the not-at-all-merry band of pirates is in desperate trouble, again. Their stolen alien starship is falling apart, thousands of light years from home. The ancient alien AI they nicknamed Skippy is apparently dead, and even if they can by some miracle revive him, he might never be the same.

So the story is a whole lot of ideas getting created then a plan being executed and of course not going to plan. There is a point in the plot I thought we were finally going to get some big picture questions answered. However that still didn't happen and I feel left underwhelmed. I look forward to the next book simply because I have so many questions. Hopefully at least some will be answered soon.

To start, I did not get book 3.5 after seeing the reviews, I'm glad I didn't, the story was not at all inhibited by not knowing what happened on Paradise in the meantime.

I was initially tired of the consistent plan, execute, pattern. I don't know if I just got used to it, but I thought this story was a sort of revival to this series. I'm interested again and looking forward to what's next! This was a crazy story line and I rather enjoyed it. Now i have to see what happens next.
