This might be the best book I have read/listened to all year. The characters are realistic and multi-dimensional. Caine does a great job making sure all of the characters are well developed and behave realistically. The mystery is complex with multiple twists and turns that keeps the reader fully engaged. I started this book in the morning and continued reading/listening throughout the day until I finished it. I can't wait for the next book.

Dex and Perry might have the chemistry of Mulder and Scully and the scares of the Winchester Brothers, but I promise you this duo is unlike anything you've seen before. When 23-year-old Perry Palomino explores a supposedly haunted lighthouse, she runs into Youtuber Dex Foray, a sexy, snarky and opportunistic ghost hunter who doesn't quite believe in ghosts. What Dex does believe in is making money and in Perry he sees a viable opportunity: create a ghost-hunting show on YouTube.

I really enjoyed the first book and was happy when I saw the second book in this series available in Audible. The reviews I read were positive so I immediately bought the book. Big mistake!!! This is a horrible example of a cozy mystery. Kate is extremely annoying and immature. When she's not ignoring Michael's feelings, she's being rude or down right mean to him. Her friends, Sam and Renee, intrude on Kate's and Michael's vacation and ruins it. Renee is incredibly annoying and stupid. She has a "big" secret which she is keeping from everyone, but, if you pay attention, it is easy to figure out. Also, there is no reason for her to keep it a secret. That part of the story was really stupid. It only causes unnecessary drama. The mystery aspect of the story is a complete dud. It's pretty obvious who's going to be murdered, and that Kate will be the lead suspect. This doesn't make since because there are more realistic suspects within the family. I could not finish this book because It made me angry. I returned it and will not read the next one in the series.
