I really enjoyed reading this book and I think others will too! Angie Pallorino has a way of finding trouble around her, but she has a lot of guts and this book was a little unnerving with the way the killer was leaving the bodies and then I Loved how she had back up when she didn't think she did. There were a few times when I thought I had things figured out, but I didn't! I will definitely refer this book to others.

The year is 1978. The Duncan brothers and their tough-as-nails women have vanquished their rivals and taken their place as the leaders of Waycross, Georgia's criminal enterprises. However, their rise to power has not gone unnoticed, and the family is rocked when their mother, Miss Bettie, is kidnapped and her body is found in a swamp. No one knows who the killers are, but instead of drawing closer, the family is split when their grief-stricken leader, LC, is offered membership in the South's most powerful black organization, the Council.

Travel back to a small Southern town where, before there was Duncan Motors, there were the Duncan brothers: Louis, aka Sweet Lou, a lover of ladies and life and a man you did not want to cross; Lawrence, aka Larry, a screw-up as attracted to trouble as it was to him; and Lavernius, better known as LC, the soft-spoken college boy who simply wanted to sell cars.

I really enjoyed listening to this book! I loved the Duncan's anodyne women they loved! I think the backstabbing, drug dealing, pump got what he deserved! Actually, he deserved more, but justice was served! Also, Chippie's mom and step dad got what they deserved! This is a book that I will enjoy recommending to others. On to book two now! Happy Reading!

My name is Vincent Marelli, though most people call me The Wolf. You’ve never met me, and if you’re lucky you never will. But in more ways than you could think of, I own you. I run the biggest criminal operation in the world. We’re invisible but we’re everywhere. Wherever you go, whatever you do, however it is you spend your money, a piece of it lands in our pockets. You would think that with that kind of power I would be invincible. You would be wrong. I made a mistake, one that a guy like me can never afford to make.

I wanted to read this because I thought it reminded me of another book that I loved! They were nothing alike! The author in this book is very detailed and makes you imagine being right there where all the action is taking place. This is a nice read, but I have a feeling that there is more to be said! I would recommend this book to others!
