This is a well written, fun, romantic romp. Worth the credit! If I have a complaint, it's that the leading lady skirts Mary Sue territory by being effortlessly good at everything, including fighting, flying alien spaceships, and reprograming alien replicators to make guac and chips. Having said that, where is the next book?! I WANT IT NOW!

Walk. Scavenge. Destroy. Trade. A simple cycle that's suited Ronin for 185 years. With no clear grasp of his programming, the barren wasteland known as The Dust offers him purpose, a place where his armored undercasing, amped-up processors, and advanced optics can be put to use. The ramshackle towns on the edges of the waste serve merely as resupply stations between increasingly long treks. But one night - one human woman - makes him question everything.

I can't even pretend I didn't fall hard for this book. If you like having your soul removed slowly and then crying tears of joy and pain, if you like worrying every second that something terrible is going to happen to the characters who have become your babies, and if you ever wondered what would happen if people figure out how to make real sentient robots, then look no further!
The author does a wonderful job of endearing you to the characters. I became heavily invested in them by the middle of the story. This book really flushes out the relationship between the characters and is incredibly honest look at basic human needs when everything else has been stripped away. Get this book, it's well worth the credit!

As a newcomer to the alien tribe, I've struggled to find my place. It might be because I'm a tad headstrong at times. And yes, I might have thrown a few things at people's heads. But I had a good reason to pitch a fit - my shy sister was stolen away right under my nose. Of course, now she's back and mated. Everyone's happy...except me. I need...affection. Attention. Okay, I'm lonely. Really lonely. Strangely enough, the only person that I think understands what I'm going through is the same blue-skinned brute that stole my sister. It's wrong to hook up with him, even as a mindless fling.

I had been eagerly anticipating this installment and the author did not disappoint! If I have one complaint, it would be to wish it were longer. The heroines in these stories are always well-rounded and most of the time a bit sassy, giving them a nice realistic outlook. And the barbarians are...barbarians. They are unapologetically honest. There is no such thing as a metaphor or figure of speech. This book, in particular, has a couple of flawed characters in the leading role and I LOVE that!
The narrators are nothing short of genius as well, really immersive experience, thanks for all the work that goes into them!

Some scary-looking aliens have just boarded Fortuna Tau, our little asteroid mining station. Kordolians, by the looks of things. What the hell do they want with this floating rust bucket? What are they even doing here? Come to think of it, I've never seen a Kordolian up close before. They're huge and intimidating, with strange silver skin and pointed ears. They have freaky nano-armor, and they're packing a serious arsenal. We humans stand no chance against them.

This is the alien romance series I've been waiting for all my adult life! Evil space dark elves are the sexy aliens I didn't know I needed. I listened to this one and then halted my life for over a week while I devoured the others. They are all SO AWESOME! The male characters are nothing short of delicious and the ladies are not wilting violets like most of the female characters in these types of stories. They are all kick-ass women! They are regular people, they have jobs, bills, mood swings. It's great!

Abbey is a great leading lady and the General...how to say this. I love him! When he comes across something he doesn't understand, he just ignores it and moves on. It's so funny and refreshing the way they navigate relating to one another.

I cannot recommend this book and this whole series enough! SO GOOD! Please chain Anna Carven to a typwriter and make her write me more of these incredible stories!

This is by far and away the best book in this series. The lead male character is well-rounded and a real leader. Every time I read one of these books, I always say, "How did these guys get into space travel before us? They are idiots." This book renewed my faith in alien wisdom. The leading lady, while dealing with a lot of drama regarding her situation, is the only lady in this series that has a REAL job and a viable skill set that transcends galaxies. The takeaway here is that you should learn to cook. The character development in this one is really satisfying. If I have one complaint, it's that the goddess is very annoying. Do we really need to hear from her?

The conversation between Jen and Galzar in the kitchen might be the single best exchange I have ever read in an alien romance novel.
Jen: I want to be friends with you.
Galzar: I can't afford your "friendship"
Jen: I meant us just talking to one another. No sex. Ever.
Galzar: Oh...I'm going to be a warrior someday, you know.
Bwahahahaha! I'm paraphrasing, but that was worth all my time.

I was genuinely rooting for this couple. If you are in it to read lots of hot alien sex without substance, read another book. But if you want you want to read a good story with solid lead characters, pick up this one!

If you could sum up The High King's Golden Tongue in three words, what would they be?

Fantastic, Layered, Different

Who was your favorite character and why?

Allen for sure. He has a poker face that people can't really read but inside his mind, he is steadily doubting everything and constantly thinking through every situation. At first, I was a little irritated with Sarrica for being so callous but the fact is that miscommunication is the cornerstone of any good story.

Which character – as performed by Michael Stellman – was your favorite?

Commander Lesto. He's kind of an anti-hero. Someone who you'd think was a surly jerk but secretly has a heart.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The man who understands every language in the room holds all the power.

Any additional comments?

This story was so rich and layered, with its own history and lore, I found myself hungry for more information about the surrounding kingdoms. The characters were extremely interesting. I wanted to know all of their stories. The narrator made the story immersive and extremely enjoyable. I NEED THE REST OF THIS SERIES ON AUDIO RIGHT NOW, PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

If you could sum up We Are Legion (We Are Bob) in three words, what would they be?

Innovative Refreshing ScienceFiction

What did you like best about this story?

Bob and all things Bob. I love how he doesn't leave any concept unexplored, even if it's just to put something else on his growing "to-do list". Bob is a concept so completely innovative, I didn't care that it was just one guy...er...with multiple versions of himself. Each Bob has their own mission and is interesting in a different way.

Which scene was your favorite?

The chase between Bob 1 (which is really Bob 3 when you think about it) and the Brazilian replicant. Their conversation made it so I wanted them to cross paths again and maybe, possibly, one day come to a mutual agreement of peace or something like it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

In Bob We Trust

Any additional comments?

This wouldn't just make a great movie, it would make a great TV series. With all the unoriginal content that is recycling itself in the movie/ TV world, I'm shocked that networks with deep pockets like Netflix, Stars, HBO, or even SyFy haven't picked up on this gem and started drooling.

Would you consider the audio edition of Lord Mouse to be better than the print version?

I am guessing this book would be just as great to read as it was listening to it. The characters were very well done and the dialogue gave them a kind of depth that works great in any case!

Who was your favorite character and why?

It's fair to say...I wanted to hear back stories about every potential protagonist I encountered. From the young noble to the closeted guard captain who lost his job. If I have to pick one, Lord Mouse is very worthy of all the attention he gets. He's the lead for a reason and though it was hard to warm up to him, I was definitely on his side and cheering for him to find a little peace and happiness.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene where Garran and Mouse seem like they might get caught and the situation turned out to be far different than I would have guessed. That scene also circled back around nicely to a storyline for another character that I was very interested in.

Who was the most memorable character of Lord Mouse and why?

I like the guard Captain (Hawkin?) He needs his own book. He had exceptional character growth in very little "screen time" and I'd like to see how he fares as an adventurer!

Any additional comments?

I love this book and I'd like to read ten more of them. Please tell the author, they aren't going to write themselves. Thanks for a great listen!

Where does Adulting 101 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book ranks in the top ten of the all the audiobooks I've listened to in the past year. It would have made the top five if not for one niggling detail that kept taking me out of the setting. Some of the dialogue and awkward situations had me barking laughter. The story was worth it just for those moments!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Adulting 101?

"This can only end one way." There were so many good moments, but my favorite is the unflagging positivity of the main protagonist Nick. He brings an ADORABLE level of insanity to everything he does, including the situation where he uses this line.

What does Nick J. Russo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The reading is flawless. The voices are so distinct and it folds in a nice layer of immersion when listening to the story. I haven't heard anything by this reader I wasn't impressed with.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Good times were had by all.

Any additional comments?

The one thing I found difficult to get around was the present tense of the story. I kept getting confused. I stopped listening several times because of this but did finish the story because the dialogue is fantastic and the story was really fun!
