The cold, precise Duke of Montford demands things his way: neatly ordered, in place, and adhering closely to the rules. So he is furious when he learns that the tenant of his ducal estate has been dead for a year, and a stranger has been running the Honeywell business - which, by contract, is now Montford's. When he arrives in Yorkshire to investigate, he discovers that the estate is being run by an unruly, tomboyish woman - and a bluestocking at that!

What made the experience of listening to The Duke's Holiday the most enjoyable?

The Duke was quirky and fastidious The heroine was unruly and unkempt. Together they were perfectly awful to each other and then they weren't and then they were. Round and round you go.
It is clear who the book's main 2 characters are but the supporting characters made the story fit together perfectly! Not a total laugh a minute until you get a good feel for the characters and then it starts rolling along. Just wait for it...

Who was your favorite character and why?

Which character – as performed by Sue Pitkin – was your favorite?

The narrator was great.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Only if you read from Book 1 -5. It would be hard to keep up if you don't know the key players. I am not talking the two main characters either but the 'many'!

What did you like best about this story?

I could not put this thing down. I could barely sleep just like the first books! It was NOT an overly romantic, too detail dive into the main couple's relationship. It was many stories but not too many to get confused. They intersect when you least expect it. It is great to revisit the characters I know and they were just like I remembered them. Here's my snip: new characters-interesting, pace-quick, transitions-great , the romance-high, sex-hot, the slang-duh, forbidden relationships-everywhere, the formal dialect & class snobbery-still there!, suspense-lots, lessers-less!! Seriously it is great to be back to looking forward to the next release.

What does Jim Frangione bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is AWESOME!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There is a surprise person in here that shows up and I can't imagine anyone would have predicted!

Victorian romance mixes seamlessly with elegant prose and biting wit—and werewolves—in Gail Carriger’s delightful debut novel. Soulless introduces Alexia Tarabotti, a parasol-wielding Londoner getting dangerously close to spinster status. But there are more important things than finding a husband. For Alexia was born without a soul, giving her the ability to render any vampire or werewolf completely powerless.

What did you love best about Soulless?

I do not know what made me pick this book other than I like historical romance series and it was on sale. What a terrific surprise. I almost did not listen to it because it just seemed so bizarre; however, within a chapter I was hooked. I enjoyed the entire series. It is so tongue in cheek. A spinster heroine who has no soul and who has a weapon that is also an fashion accessory is just plain fun! Killing a vampire for this lady is just an accident and inconvenience.Loved every minute of it! The narrator is great.

What did you like best about this story?

The whole steampunk paranormal romance with humor.

What does Emily Gray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Everything...great narrator! Perfect for this series.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I could hardly wait to read the next one!

Any additional comments?

Great series.

However, he is not a gentleman by birth, a factor that pains him and his father, Bernard Mason, within the Regency society that upholds station over all else. I like the narrator and the story was never boring.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Reginald and Annabelle are the main characters and they were delightful.

Which scene was your favorite?

I like flashbacks and there were plenty.

Any additional comments?

I don't like short stories and I am glad this one went a little beyond so that I did not pass it by. However, it appears to be the dying to become a real novel.
