Teresa of Avila's Interior Castle is one of the most celebrated books ever written by a mystic on abiding in union with Christ. Writing in obedience to the requests of two of her superiors, the humble 16th century Spanish sister protests "...for the love of God, let me get on with my spinning and go to choir...like the other sisters...I am not meant for writing; I have neither the health nor the wits for it."

I am so grateful that the good people of the world put the writings of the Saints on paper for the world to hear. Saint Teresa of Avila is my Patron Saint. I did not choose her, she chose me.
Asks God to reveal to you whom your Patron Saint is.
I kept trying to find a different Patron Saint. Saint Teresa of Avila kept chasing me down! Lol. Long story short, all glory to God. Saint Teresa has changed my life.

Are you happy? It may be the wrong question. Most of us think we are relatively happy, while at the same time knowing that we could be happier - maybe even a lot happier. Resisting Happiness is a deeply personal, disarmingly transparent look at why we sabotage our own happiness and what to do about it. Breaking through resistance, Kelly tells us, is essential to becoming the person that God created us to be. What is resistance? It's that sluggish feeling of not wanting to do something that you know is good for you.

In Reasons to Believe, Scott Hahn, a convert to Catholicism, explains the "how and why" of the Catholic faith - drawing from Scripture, his own struggles, and those of other converts, as well as from everyday life and even natural science. Hahn shows that reason and revelation, as well as nature and the supernatural, are not opposed to one another; rather, they offer complementary evidence that God exists. He is someone, and He has a personality, a personal style, that is discernable and knowable.

Thomas à Kempis' collection of meditative writings from the Bretheren of the Common Life is the most widely read book in the world after the Bible. The reflective devotions have been a heartening friend to great men such as Thomas More, St. Ignatius Loyola, Thomas Merton, Pope John Paul I, and John Wesley. Learning to live live Jesus is the central task that A. Kempis explores in this classic devotional. This book provides comfort and counsel to every person who seeks to live a more connected and whole life.

Many Christians today feel overwhelmed as they try to live faithfully in a culture that seems increasingly hostile to their beliefs. Politics, marriage, sexuality, religious freedom - with an ever-growing list of contentious issues, believers find it harder than ever to hold on to their convictions while treating their friends, neighbors, coworkers, and even family members who disagree with respect and compassion.

The title is very deceiving. This is written by a Protestant and the author only states this much further into the book is deception on the part of the reader. It states no where on the cover etc. As a Roman Catholic, the outlooks are against a lot of the natural law of God and the Church, the One True Church that is Catholic. Christians and Catholics should stray away from this material.
