Captain Susan Branscombe was the victim of brutal torture at the hands of terrorists. Though rescued, she's now facing an equally brutal accusation: treason. The only way she can prove her innocence is to allow Asler Kiis, a Confederacy Examiner, to delve into the depths of her mind. Asler is Inarri, the alien race that made contact with Earth just months before. His duty is to find the truth, but when he explores Susan's mind he can't resist drawing her into a more intimate experience....

Ilona and Andrew have come up with a fantastic transition from Nevada and Connor to House Baylor Catalina lead. I really liked how Catalina and Arabella lead the family wedding planning and sleuth work combined with her cousins and minimal advice for mom and Grandma. Her subtle use of her power generates interest for a continuation of the adventures of House Baylor.

Nice collection - in each story it amazes me that it took some extreme awful act of tragedy to get the women on board with what it means to be involved with a Breed male. I get why it is a secret but instead of listening to their internal feelings they want to govern the brain. At any rate amusement was had and passionate intimate scenes prevailed!

You know her voice. Now hear her story.

Audible has teamed up with Rolling Stone to produce an uncompromisingly honest Audible Original that honors the life and legacy of the incomparable Aretha Franklin. Aretha’s universal appeal was evident from the release of her first album at age 14 through her nearly 50 Top 40 hits. Yet this intimate biography reminds us that Aretha knew pain as much as she knew glory. It was the blues, residing deep within her soul, that gave way to a voice able to lift millions with a profound sense of freedom, self-worth, and undeniable talent to rise above sorrow.

What an eye opener! I had no idea Aretha’s stellar existence was rife with tragic life events that were contributing factors to a phenomenal life. Every instance cemented her altruistic approach to music and caring for blacks people and Detroit. Never really paid attention to the womanizing influence CL inflicted on her children and the women he was involved with. Aretha will be missed but her music and her legacy continue.

I could not stand Hugh in the Kate Daniels series! So I bought the ebook and the audio version but still resisted reading or listening to it. But, once I started, I couldn’t put it down. Hugh redeemed himself and I am looking forward to the next in the series. I understand why this writing team Ilona and Andrew are so good together. Their characters are believable and the authors attention to detail across Kate’s and Hugh’s series match with precise perspective, it leaves me cackling with glee because I noted it and went back the the prior Kate series to re-read for the umpteenth time. Awesome!

I was truly torn and happy when Chicagoland series ended. I am so glad to see the heirs begin their journey and get little glimpses of the lives of the original crew in conjunction with the young adults who lead the next generation. Elisa is a bad azz but profound about her inner monster. Born not made, the only vampire child has found a way in the world until it starts unraveling when she reconnects with her childhood frenemy Connor at the summit to help the European vampires. New bonds are forged while protecting g what they live and stand for in Chicago making this an exciting new start to this series.
