One of the comedy world's fastest-rising stars tells his wild coming of age story during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed. Noah provides something deeper than traditional memoirists: powerfully funny observations about how farcical political and social systems play out in our lives.

This is not even remotely the typical celebrity autobiography. Trevor proved to be an impressive storyteller, immersing you in his experiences in a pivotal time in the history of South Africa. This narrative is definitely entertaining, but his insight into human nature, which are peppered throughout, proved to be my favorite parts of the book.

As this book's title suggests, Norm Macdonald tells the story of his life - more or less - from his origins on a farm in the-back-of-beyond Canada and an epically disastrous appearance on Star Search to his account of auditioning for Lorne Michaels and his memorable run as the anchor of Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live - until he was fired because a corporate executive didn't think he was funny. But Based on a True Story is much more than a memoir; it's the hilarious, inspired epic of Norm's life.

This legitimately might be my favorite audiobook ever. It is a terrific Frankenstein of farce, Half true, outlandish fiction, and moments of sincerity all written and performed perfectly. It deepened my already immense love of Norm's unique comedic voice.

David Spade is best known for his harsh "Hollywood Minute" sketches on SNL, his starring roles in movies like Tommy Boy and Joe Dirt, and his seven-year stint as Dennis Finch on the series Just Shoot Me. Now, with a wit as dry as the weather in his home state of Arizona, the "comic brat extraordinaire" delivers a memoir.

If you're up and you will find some interesting stories in here, and will be worth the time. You don't get the impression that a lot of effort was put into the material but I doubt he was trying to write "War and Peace".

The Generosity Network is the essential guide to the art of activating resources of every kind behind any worthy cause. Philanthropist Jeff Walker and fund-raising expert Jennifer McCrea offer a fresh new perspective that can make the toughest challenges of nonprofit management and development less stressful, more rewarding - and even fun. Walker and McCrea show how traditional pre-scripted, money-centered, goal-oriented fund-raising techniques lead to anxiety and failure, while open-spirited, curiosity-driven, person-to-person connections lead to discovery, growth - and often amazing results.
